§ Blogger Interface is a Challenge These Days...

I started out the morning after breakfast, working online in Blogger. The "newer" interface is not the friendliest. I feel I'm pretty proficient with coding. Yet, I can get tangled up in HTML for hours. I really shoulda just forgot the whole thing and gone birding. But no! Stupid me. I worked for hours and took a lunch break. Yes, hours. Then, I ended up getting the finishing touches on both of my blog templates for March after lunch. The most frustrating features [or I should say LACK of features], are the customized backgrounds...they don't work as they should [covering only the top few inches without being a complete filled in page! And secondly, the header! Each time, even after resizing it to fill the width, it comes out aligned to the far left! Not centered. I worked and worked. Finally, got it figured out, and made notes for next month's updated design. At least I hope.

As I said, I shoulda gone birding!

§ Along Shoreline/Ocean Drive...Part I

Hurricane Hanna is now in the past, making landfall south of Corpus Christi. We had high winds, lots of rain, and threatened with tornadoes. The worst was, electricity went out & stayed out for a day and a half. Once the power was restored, I was again a happy camper.


As you know if you follow me somewhat, I try to get my morning walk each day [some days are skipped, but I try]. And I sit early in the morning, before I leave the house,trying to figure out where to go for a different scene and little to no people out and about at that hour for virus issues. Recently, I took a leisurely stroll along the downtown area, on Shoreline Blvd. Part Culture such as art centers, entertainment venues, the yacht club, a park like median between the four lanes of traffic. One side going south on Shoreline is the motel/hotel and restaurants, while the seaside is the culture, parks and seawall. As I said in between the traffic lanes, there is a green belt so to speak...here, I walked the other day:

I stopped in the shade for a while to cool down and sit by the fountain at the art center...I like to call it the fountain of youth.

I then walked the seawall back to the car.  It was getting a bit too populated by that time, traffic, joggers, walkers, boaters and city workers working on cleaning streets, mowers, and landscapers.  Time to leave this area.  And head further down the boulevard to where  Shoreline turns into Ocean Drive.  More smaller parks along the sea side and residential area on the dry side....

§ Somewhere Beyond the Sea...

When I share my beach walks, I'm usually aiming my camera lens to the sea [or focusing on birds walking the shore or flying high above me]. Today, I thought I'd be a bit different, and show y'all what is behind me...behind the beach and the Gulf. After walking on the sand, dodging the seasonal influx of seaweed, I walked along the jetty clear out to sea, to the very end, then I climbed the sand dunes this time; for a work out.  By the way, if you notice the cross erected on one of the dunes, I must tell you this is a scene that can be a frequent sighting.  People put up memorials for those lost at sea from unfortunate mishaps ...drowning or perhaps totally lost from being caught in those dangerous rip currents.

§ Scenes from Nearby Home...

I have been taking breaks now and then from my yard art repainting - I began working on the cement statue of our pelican, but it will take me a week or more to finish.  So, I'm taking walks...soaking up this glorious weather we've been having here-of-late.  From 1] watching dolphins guide the big oil tankers out to sea, 2] finding a sure sign of Spring; a lady bug, 3] the deep sea fishermen along the channel and the sparkle of the gulf, 4] way out on the horizon a ship spraying water from the deck, 5] wildflowers in the park under mesquite trees, 6] taking out my lens ball for a snapshot of the sand dunes and oil rigs  7] viewing reflections on the park ponds, 8] and keeping the bird feeder station in our back yard filled and stocking fresh fruit for them to snack on as they have a layover on their way to the northern parts of USA and Canada, 9] taking a foot journey behind the bird basin looking for the rare plover but finding none - just yellow wildflowers by the inter-coastal waterway..

§ Turbulence on the Sea and a Mystery Guest

The sea was turbulent, the fog was settling in. Bud and I walked the Packery Channel before sunrise. But first, before the photos for the day, can you tell what this is? Perhaps your guess is correct. Scroll down to see if that is so. But be careful not to get too wet with the ocean spray!! Believe it or not, these are NOT black and white photos, tho the storm makes it appear that way.

Okay, what was your guess? We're looking through the morning mist, and the view is dim. Here it is....

Did you get the answer correct? Yep, it's Wiley Coyote...or maybe Wilma Coyote. It was searching for breakfast. Only to disappear shortly after these photos were taken.
