“A wise old owl lived in an oak;
The more he saw the less he spoke;
The less he spoke the more he heard...
Why can't we all be like that bird?”

I screwed up. Blond? Ya, baby. Got it fixed tho, now. Geez
I was working on the Wednesday blog for April 1st 'cause I just scanned a photo of Irene for her upcoming birthday,
and clicked publish instead of save. Duh!!
Have you ever done that? It's now back in the 'save as draft'. O.M.G.

Meet our newest member of the household. We named her Lily. Appropriate for Easter-time, don't you think? Her fur is a beautiful cream color and she's so soft and cuddly. I want to squeeze her and hug her!! When I laid eyes on her, I couldn't resist...I had to bring her home with me. Bud, of course, just shook his head and smiled a little, knowing all too well my fetish for cute animals....

From her cute rear end and sweet looking, bobbed tail to her rose adorned ear lobe, she's too adorable for words.

Her coal black eyes emblazoned with long black eyelashes and her pink tufted nose down to her sweet, happy Spring Greeting smile...she's our newest Easter "Lily"!!

- - -

Surrounding Lily on the coffee table in our living room I placed her in a pink wire basket stuffed with pink Easter 'Grass', and placed a few plastic pastel Easter eggs and placed a small amount of pink, shiny, curl ribbon atop the turquoise crocheted doilies. I have a miniature green glass bunny and a 'chocolate' ceramic Easter Bunny on either side along with my lavender smoky glass candle holders which I stuffed some yellow Easter 'Grass' in the holder and placed the candles in...[partially seen just to the right of the chocolate bunny]

It was a gray, sunless day.
The winds howled through the barren trees.
By afternoon the sky turned black
and tornado warnings...next silence.
The darkness was intense,
the ebony clouds rolled!
Then, they burst open and the rains poured.
Within minutes the streets and yards were flooded.
Water, debris...everywhere.
Ten minutes; clouds dissipated.

  2. that is some storm. somehow the ones that come so ominously and leave so quickly, appear to have so much more power...

and by the way, one can never get too old to buy fluffy toys! your green glass bunny is spectacularly eye-catching.

  3. Great writing about the storm. I've wittnessed many just like it when living in the panhandle.

    Lily is adorable. :)

  4. Good Mornin' Anni,
Lily is just too adorable. She is just precious. I guess with the ribbon around her neck it gives her fur a rainbow look to me. I really love the Green glass Bunny as well. Green is my favorite color. I don't decorate for Easter anymore since the girls have pretty much outgrown the Easter bunny. It does take the fun out of things when they quit believing in things like the Easter bunny and the tooth Fairy and even Santa Claus. My how they grow up way too fast these days. That is some storm there . We may be dodging Tornadoes later today and tonight they are saying. I sure hope not. Take care my friend and have a great day and weekend. May GOD Bless you and yours.
    Love,
    Karen H.

  9. Lovely little Lily! I keep forgetting to get out my Easter things. I'd better hurry or it's going to be too late.

We had crazy stuff yesterday, too. Check it out!

    Happy Friday!

  10. I am happy not to be alone with buying stuffed animals, lol ! My bed is full of cute stuffed cats as if I was 10 years old. But I don't care what people think ! I love them and apparently you do love this stuff too ! when I think of all your collections, lol ! Lily is really sweet !

  11. Oh you TRICKED me!!! I started reading in google reader - with no pictures... and I thought for SURE you had gotten a new kitten! Your Lily is adorable though... and much less work than a new kitten! LOL!

  13. And within a few minutes more, migraine sufferers all over town were in bed with crippling, blinding headaches!

Nice job of encapsulating the event. I've never been up close and personal with a tornado, but this seems like exactly what I'd expect one to be like.

Of course, I'm perfectly willing to take your word for it!

    Great job!

  14. Yes, I did know what you meant - it is about 15 degrees this morning, and they're predicting more for Wednesday. I'm not as bummed out as you'd think, because this is what we've been needing so badly. We're now out of the record of the driest "winter" in many years. Not as bad as the March madness (and I don't mean basketball) of 2006. DIA learned a lot from that one!

  15. Me again - I keep forgetting to tell you that your assessment of Greeley a few days ago is the same as mine!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Dawn: Ya, Greeley stinks...literally. [I remember all the feed lots when I was a kid. LOL]

And as far as breaking the drought...I'd much prefer rain to snow. You don't have to scoop rain.

  17. I could feel the barometric pressure changing and building before the storm hits.
    Excellent! :)

  18. Fantastic and intense--just like the storm you are writing about. It always amazes me the speed at which such devastation can occur.

Lily is absolutely adorable! And you're right--just in time for Easter!

    Have a great weekend!

  19. Hi Anni,

Awwwww - the sheep looks like the little hand puppet that Shari used to have, you remember her? So sweet!

All your decorations are so pretty in their own way and I've enjoyed seeing them.

    Thanks so much for sharing!

  20. I heard this morning that it's going to be our April Fool's joke - but I don't think it's a joke. We'll see.

I haven't been in a hurricane or tornado, but I do believe I prefer snow.

I'd really rather have rain in March, April, and May, but that's the way the old Colorado ball bounces, eh?? And we take it how we can get it - moisture, that is.

Awwwww Lily is just so adorable and of course I love the name since it's also my grandbaby's name:-) Gosh, that chocolate ceramic bunny looks like real chocolate, doesn't it! When I was at one of my favourite shops a couple of weeks ago I noticed they had some plastic ones that looked like real chocolate as well. I'd be too tempted to keep biting into them! lol
