Got a good reason For taking the easy way out

...And When I Reached Jamaica, I Made a Stop!!!

Finally, our destination...the island of Jamaica!!

...The hilly terrain of the island from the ship as we made our way in to dock...

The dock's courtyard, and Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville

The shopping, the scenes, the ship & a view of our cabin through the palms, the excursion to the sugar cane plantation, the slaves' birthing house (he had 1200 slaves), a Jamaican orange [I believe it was called ugly orange (ugli fruit)...not sure]

The plantation (1700s), the river that runs through the land...

The main house, thatch roof...where we had lunch, the landscaping, rafters.

...the kitchen, the counting house [two views], and back aboard...leaving Jamaica behind!!

This concludes my cruise record of photos.  From Galveston to Jamaica, West Indies.  Now, soon, back to 'normal blogging'.

America lost a first lady April 17, 2018

“...you are a human being first and those human connections — with spouses, with children, with friends — are the most important investments you will ever make.”

And who knows? Somewhere out in this audience may even be someone who will one day follow in my footsteps, and preside over the White House as the president’s spouse …

… and I wish him well."

  3. I love having been along on your cruise. That is one ugli orange, I must say. But two lovely ladies were a good counterpoint. And that quote from Barbara Bush is so perfect! Thank you, Anni! :-)

  13. Love that Barbara Bush quote :) One day I will get to Jamaica, it looks fabulous and always reminds me of my Grandfather's joke... I can't remember the start but it ended with 'Jamaica?' 'No she went of her accord!'

  16. We were in Jamaica about 100 years ago -- actually 36, I just counted back -- yikes!!!! Really loved it. Even before that my brother and SIL were in the Peace Corps stationed in the mountains there. OUr experience was somewhat different ;>)
We did love it ... was our first trip out of the US/Mexico/Canada.

PS: I was able to fix your comment glitch on mine ... sorry for the trouble, Typepad gets weird sometimes. They've been doing updates and maybe that was part of the problem. Hope all is OK in future; I appreciate your visits very much and of course hosting from your other blog.
