Cruise - day one

We left Corpus Christi about 9 am on the first day of our Sister's Day trip. We had plans of taking our time getting to Galveston, celebrating St. Patrick's Day on Pier 21, where eventually the ship would arrive and we could board. We stopped along the way to see Port Lavaca [Texas] and the lighthouse:  Halfmoon Lighthouse. Then on our way to Galveston. After checking in at Harbor House Hotel on the Pier for the night before boarding, we attended the holiday parade, had green beer, and dined on seafood and salad.

I woke up to a foggy morning, and getting outside to do my morning routine walking, for the first time I heard the three horns, fog horns of my ship coming in to port!! I stopped walking around the pier and hotel when the huge ship [largest ship in its class] came backing in to dock and prepare for us passengers to board, leaving Texas and America around 10a.m. In the misty morning light you can see our ship, docked behind the Carnival Cruise Ship. To make a long story short, the first night we kept busy checking out the entertainment venue for the evening, and dining. Our ship's cabin stateroom was on the starboard [right] with a private balcony...

...a lot more to come!

  1. Oh MY!!!! The ship in the misty morning is so beautiful that it breaks my heart. And it is doubly gorgeous, because it reflects in the water.

  13. Hello Anni, the sister's cruise sounds like fun. I am not sure I would like green beer, I assume it must not taste different. Love the foggy images. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day!
