Got a good reason For taking the easy way out

That's Entertainment

This is Friday the 13th?!!!
One afternoon, at the pool there was a belly flop contest. Tho these two gentlemen didn't win [the one in blue trunks was from my home state - Nebraska]...he came in 2nd. And the one in green and yellow trunks was last year's reigning champ [from Texas], but he was ousted. I did not get the winner of this year's contest in photo 'cause of the crowds watching the spectacle, but his flop sprayed water 4 rows back where people were standing; watching!! I was one of those people, and I admit my camera got wet!!!!

In one of the recent comments, it was mentioned they'd be IN THE POOL...well, that is easier said than done...first, the pools are quite small, and 2ndly, the pools were filled with very young children for the most part...crowded. The adults were on the chaise lounge chairs, watching their kids or in the many hot tubs, drinking. It was like a huge party going on from opening to closing. People watching was my pastime when I was on that deck. Or, I ate my weight in soft serve ice cream!!!

To finish off the night time entertainment venues, my sister and I attended all that were scheduled. The last of the series for stage performances I share:

One evening, the musical, Saturday Night Fever.

...another evening, we had "in the Air". This was a fantastic acrobatic show case of talent!

...with this one stage setting, the sheer, turquoise curtain was constantly in motion, making it resemble the deep sea with the acrobats portraying sea creatures.

...the two shown here were amazing!!!! Such grace, talent, and a true spectacle of eye-popping, jaw-dropping feats. They got a standing ovation when their segment was finished!!! You had to see it to believe it.  Background music with this was Phil Collins' "In the Air".

...did you see the movie Jersey Boys? Well, this next talent, the lead singer was phenomenal!! He had us dancing in our seats, crying, applauding, cheering!!! The show with him and his band were the hit of the cruise!!! The songs he performed were from the 60s [my era], and I was singing along with him. His rendition of Roy Orbison's Crying was exceptional! When the last note was played the audience were on their feet...in tears and cheering!!! [the lead singer starred in the movie, Jersey Boys]

...the last show on stage was a tribute to Neil Diamond. It too was fantastic. The performer in this show had a dual role on this cruise. He was also the cruise director!! [he and his wife]

My two favorite songs that he sang were Sweet Caroline and September Morning! Oh ya, when he sang a tribute to the USA [with the song by Lee Greenwood , God Bless the USA, mixed with Neil Diamonds America]...the background stage lighting had something quite familiar to me...the Great Flag of the state of Texas!

So many times recently, I have been discouraged by our country and politics...but, I STILL STAND UP NEXT TO YOU, U S A

Across the plains of Texas
From sea to shining sea
From Detroit down to Houston
And New York to L.A.
Where there's pride in every American heart
And it's time we stand and say
That I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free
