I'm composing this post on Tuesday afternoon. Perhaps by the time you read it, the outcome of the presidential election will be known. Of course I could've voted early, or opted to vote by mail. But I stood firm and waited until Election Day. Even tho, I had my mind made up for whom [it should read for WHAT] I'd select on the ballot for president, I felt it necessary to wait it out and make sure...between the time I coulda voted and November 8th, there may have been something drastic happening to change my mind. Some of you hinted at this "Who are you voting for"? Well, to be honest, I was not [and still not] overly pleased with ANY candidate, that's why I previously stated, "for what instead of for whom". Even those that didn't get the nomination! No one. Yep, no one. I voted for the party, not the candidate. Sorry to disappoint. Personally, I don't think Cruz, Carson, Sanders, Trump, Clinton....any of them were/are worthy of leading our country. I went early...about 7:30 to the nearest polling station. There were only 7 voters ahead of me. Cool...no long wait time!!! And then after I signed in and proved who I was with my ID...voted, and left the building, the line was clear around, and outside. Probably over 100 anxious people. As I got in my car, I was wondering who they were going to choose. My county was approved by the state of Texas that you could vote in ANY precinct you choose. That too was a big plus. I like that law change and hope it sticks to the books for future elections. I'M GLAD IT'S OVER [no more political email crap too! lol]...For Good Fences I will share these two:

Enjoyed all the various sights you shared. I am sick of all the political actions. I did like you, voted for the party not the candidate. Our country is in terrible condition now, but cannot see it getting much better.

DeleteJoe and I voted by mail. I'm happy with our choice. If our candidate wins, fine and if not well, it's not the end of the world. Tomorrow those with jobs will get up and go to work and those without jobs won't. I'll get up and shower and dress and make breakfast and get on with things no matter who wins.

DeleteI voted too, it took about 20 minutes and like you I voted for the platform. Now we wait! I love the new law for you about voting in any precinct. We have a University in our town and the poor people in that precinct had awfully long waits.

DeleteGreat pictures today! Favorites are the purple flowers and the palm tree with the blue sky. I have never seen a sunscreen dispenser ever! Leave it to Texas. That fisherman may catch a lot of fish, but have a hard time cooking them if he gets pneumonia. YES, we voted today! I am still wearing my badge. You will see it in my next post.

DeleteLike all your pictures here today. We have lots of cactus growing in the fork of trees our here too. One lady in our neighborhood has cactus growing on her roof. I put a picture of it in my blog but don't think you were reading mine at that time.

But I shall sleep well into tomorrow!
I went back to bed about 1:30 a.m. and slept in. I had to watch the electoral count until Trump reached 270.
DeleteI can't think of any one of our neighbors (close by) or friends who didn't vote. We ALL feel the same as you who stated it so kindly. Only time will tell how things will go from here. Hopefully there will be no more invasive political phone calls either! Nice jumble of photos.

I love the fisherman photo and that cactus is much like ours, but ours is 40 feet in the air in the top of a pine tree. I share your thoughts on sunscreen in the sun all day..
ReplyDeleteAs far as the sunscreen goes....I think it's a waste of time and money. But, obviously as you can see by the dollop on the platform, someone is using it. Odd.

I hope all those politicians who somehow had my phone number will loose it. LOL We are still waiting to see if our Gov. McCrory will have another term. Very close race.

The fisherman and the crab under the water is really cool, as is the palm tree shot with the pretty blue sky. I have never seen a sunscreen dispenser before. I wonder if they will start that or if they have on the East Coast? The creator of the sand dune sculpture must have gotten his/her inspiration looking out at the water. So neat. Last but not least I thank you so much for those beautiful flowers and am sorry that I did not have the meme up this past weekend. I am slowly recovering from bronchitis and an ear infection. Am still coughing and as deaf as a doorpost, but at least I can get on line for a while, even though it isn't for long. I have missed visiting but am slowly catching up on comments left and am happy to be saying hello to you today. I don't usually talk politics too much but now that the elections are over I worry about what is to come, but fervently hope that we can be a united country, and accept everyone for who they are and not judge them for their differences. Deletehaha i think the backside of the cow is fitting for election day! my daughter and i worked the polls on election day and it was wonderful how many elderly people insisted on coming in, some could barely walk with their walkers or some were in wheelchairs with assistance...now that is a great generation! sad there is still so much hate being slung around over it...will we ever get back to normal? love your flower shots!

ReplyDeleteI like the sand sculpture. I am glad the election is over too. I was lucky this year. I usually go in the morning and there is always a line but I ran several errands and ended up getting there just before noon and I didn't have to wait even 1 minute. I must of beat the lunch bunch.
