What's Halloween without treats?
1] I signed up long ago for an emailing from Better Homes and Gardens. Sometimes they have nifty craft ideas, other times holiday themed emails, while other days I get recipes. This past week, I received a notice that S'Mores is all grown up. There were several different ways to make tasty treats within the realm of the oldie but goodie..."S'mores". This one in particular caught my eye...blackberry. YUM!!

White Chocolate & Blackberry S'mores
Ingredients
1/4 of a 4 ounce white chocolate bar
2 chocolate graham crackers or regular graham crackers
2 large marshmallows, toasted*
2 tablespoons blackberry jam

From the Test Kitchen
* To toast, place marshmallows on end of long skewer; hold over flame 30 to 60 seconds, turning frequently.

2] This year, I didn't buy too many witch dolls and figurines to add to my collection. Everywhere I went in search of some new ones, they seemed all the same or all too similar to the ones I already have. That's okay. But I did find three and brought them home to the others. This is an eclectic collection of what's around the house. Pumpkins, jack-o-lanterns that light up, a couple of candle holders [I show just one] that hold tea light candles, a pair of earrings I made from two necklaces [I wear earrings, rarely necklaces], and of course a spider...

...most of my witches are on the entertainment center and the fireplace mantel.
3] After an entire day outdoors the other day, working in the back yard and the resurfacing of the patio, we both were tuckered out. No cooking, no cleaning in the kitchen...we ordered pizza!! I enjoyed the dedication [and humor] of this when our pizza was delivered to the house. A cheese lover myself, I personally want to thank Stella, Nancy, Edna, Estelle and Abigail. Y'all made my evening relaxing just 'cause you get up at 4a.m. to share your wholesome goodness with us all....each and every day, come rain or shine ---

4] A walk in the cemetery for ghostly scenes [digital software tricks]...

...and a All Hallow's Eve Vulture

5] Cell Phone Tower at dusk...

I love the spooky atmosphere you have created in this post. From the cell tower image, to those wonderful decorations. Smores are not common here in Europe, but they do look good!

DeleteI do agree with Mersad, Anni!! A delightfully spooky atmosphere indeed!! A fun visit! Hope you have a great, spooky new week!!
ReplyDeleteGood...glad you enjoyed the 'weenish ambiance today Sylvia.
DeleteYour decorations are great!! What fun you must have, putting things out each year and shopping for new things!! Your earrings are so too cute and making them out of a necklace is such a fun idea.
ReplyDelete...thanks Terri.
DeleteYour decorations are excellent. Your house is ready and waiting for Friday evening.
ReplyDelete...I love that it's on a Friday this year. The more trick/treaters, the merrier.
Deleteyou have the best ever collection of witches, in fact you are the only person i know who has a collection, but then there must be a lot of them, since they sell them. i don't remember ever seeing anything like these in the stores here. maybe i am living under a rock... i love the pumpkin.. when I was trick or treating i always went as a witch.
ReplyDeleteI too like dressing up as a witch. Even today.
DeleteThanks Sandra.
Your decorations are terrific! And that s'more sounds good too.
ReplyDelete...thanks Sandie

ReplyDelete...thanks Eileen. Have a terrorific week too!
DeleteWould you believe I have never had an actual s'more? Yes it's true. I could be the only one on the face of the earth who hasn't had one. That recipe sounds really good.
ReplyDeleteLove that pizza box and I could go for a slice right now. Extra cheese on mine please :)
extra cheese AND double up on the pepperoni too.
DeleteYou have such great posts! I have got to try that S'More for Bill. He would love that! I love your witches! And the cemetery walk is awesome, too.The coew made me smile. Love it!
ReplyDelete...thanks Ann
DeleteDo you dress up yourself for Halloween too? I thought I saw some earrings. Lots of pretty and Halloweeny things here.
ReplyDeleteYep....my sparkling skull earrings.
DeleteYou played SPOOKY well!!! I am going to Dark Hour Haunted House on Saturday night. I have a friend whose husband is in the Haunt business. This will be the first haunted house I will have been to in more than 35 years!!! Louis Dean is going WITH me!!! He says he LOVES spooky!!
ReplyDeleteI've never cared for Haunted Houses....unless it's a 'real deal'. Those planned haunted houses for Halloween done up just to scare our wits out of us isn't fun...fake. lol Thanks Linda.
DeleteLove that pizza box (bag?). CUTE idea. And it looks like you're all set for Halloween. We rarely get any trick or treaters out here and I have only one pumpkin.
ReplyDeleteI love having the youngsters at the door!! And that pizza box was just too cute not to share in my opinion. Thanks Judy.
DeleteLove your witch collection!
ReplyDelete...thanks Karen
DeleteThat first shot looks enough to eat.
ReplyDelete...yummy!
DeleteLove your vulture pic!
ReplyDelete...thanks Janet.
DeleteVery eerie photos of the cemetery and cell tower. Mwa-ha-ha-haaaaa.
ReplyDelete...hope you enjoyed the atmosphere here!!
DeleteFun post! Love the vulture and the cemetery! Your witches are cute! But that pizza box was absolutely delightful!
ReplyDelete...thanks Marie
DeleteI love your collection of witches. We don't really celebrate Halloween here.
ReplyDelete...glad you enjoyed my witch harem. Thanks Gunilla
DeleteThe s'more looks absolutely delicious; blackberries probably add just the right touch! Enjoyed your cemetery photos; I always enjoy walking through cemeteries...they're peaceful places to reflect (even if your photos are kind of scary ;) ).
ReplyDelete...they're not that scary. Just made blue is all.
Deletethe vultures are my kinda creepy.
ReplyDeleteI like 'em too Ms. T
DeleteI was drooling all over myself looking at your White Chocolate-Blackberry S'more, then I hit the part that gave the calorie count, Gulp! I could do it if I skipped breakfast and lunch and had popcorn for dinner (I thought to myself). You laugh? I have been know to do such things with other irresistable goodies. I will let you know if I take the plunge.
ReplyDeleteI love all of your Halloween stuff ... It is so cool to get emersed in a collection and then be able to share it with the world on these special occasions. If I had it to do over, I would choose to collect something that I could tie into a holiday ... then I could bring them out and put them away before they all needed to be dusted. As it is, I collected elephants all of my life and now they are all collecting dust ... not sure what to do with them. Know anyone who wants to buy an elephant collection? Anyway, Hootin' Annie, I can' see that you get great joy out of your collections and out of celebrating Halloween with all of it's trimming. Of course, I love the Vulture because I love Vultures even when it isn't Halloween. Enjoyed every minute of this post ...
Andrea @ From The Sol
I can picture it now....Elephants on Ebay!!!
Deletethanks Andrea [I too like vultures]
Oh, I love all the witches!
ReplyDelete...thanks Pat
DeleteYou had me at white chocolate! That smore looks scrumptious!
ReplyDeleteI've been seeing lots of witch decorations around our neighborhood. Specifically the ones that look like they've smacked into a tree. Very cute!
I'm gonna have to try these soon.
DeleteI can tell you're getting more and more primed as Halloween approaches, Annie! Are you going to serve those smores to the little goblins who come to your door? (Not!) We don't get children door to door here on the mountain - too dark and scary at night!
ReplyDeleteI'd have my own 'trick or treat party' if there weren't any little ones around. lol
DeleteThis totally made me SMILE!!!
ReplyDelete...it's good to know this post brought a smile to your face Mary.
DeleteGreat header and spooky images...excellent!
ReplyDelete...thanks Donna
DeleteYes, please to those delightful treats! I can taste them now! Love you witch collection. I'm currently down sizing my Christmas collections from the last 30 years. I'm starting with the Nativity sets and am trying to do the same with the Santas. They aren't quite as easy.
ReplyDeleteI figure I'll enjoy them while I can...and think I'll let my kids deal with 'em all when I'm gone.
DeleteOh my.... I love all your Halloween decorations and your collection of witches... S'mores...haven't had them in years... Love your header too... Michelle
ReplyDelete...thanks Michelle
DeleteI haven't had a s'more for a while, and your version sounds wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI like your glittery pumpkin and that cute little green witch. The pizza box is the best!
You asked about the soup recipe I posted. The sodium is probably high, but I used low sodium broth and ricearoni.
...thanks for coming by to answer my sodium question. I would love to sample your chicken/rice soup. I'll give it a try soon.
DeleteThose fences are really spooky!!!!
ReplyDelete...happy halloween Margaret
DeleteLooks like you're ready for that scary day. Very spooky!!
ReplyDelete...a bit of spooky is what I was after. :-)
DeleteYour decorations are awesome, Anni! Can you believe I've never tried s'mores before in my entire life??!!!!
ReplyDelete...you should try 'em at least once.
DeleteGotta try that s'more recipe! I meant to tell you that the graveyard is spooky indeed and I love the sky colors in the last shot as well!
ReplyDelete...thanks Marie
DeleteNow I am craving s'mores!! Yummy. And I love those spoooookyyyy photos!!
ReplyDelete...glad you enjoyed this!!
DeleteBOOoooooo and pass the s'mores.
ReplyDelete..scare me...you jumped out, now I dropped all the s'mores...we'll have to snack on candy corn...hope that's okay.
DeleteHi Anni
ReplyDeleteThank you for the new S'mores recipe. Ironically I bought graham crackers today.
Why...because yesterday I found a jar of Hershey's chocolate spread at Trader Joe's for 1/2 the cost at the grocery store. I was planning to smother the graham crackers with chocolate.
thanks to you I gave NCSI: New Orleans another shot. Maybe the 'accent' is less or I'm getting used to it.
Going out for supper tonight to the Black Cat Cafe....new place
Hugs cecilia
I never did think the accent was 'over powering'. He sounds like a 'bama boy to me. lol
DeleteAnd, who, might I ask, had the nerve to go out to a cemetary to take this picture at nught. I can tell you it wouldn't have been me :)
ReplyDeleteAndrea @ From The Sol
...actually, Andrea, the tell tale of it all is "digital tricks" as I stated above the photo.
DeleteYou have an amazing collection of Witch Dolls. I loved that little Green one.
ReplyDeleteOh you did the Spooky Cemetery Fence quite well.
...thanks Ida
DeleteHow clever of you to be super spooky and feature graveyard fences!

DeleteI usually pass on the s'mores when we go camping. Because their boring. I may have to borrow this recipe next time.
ReplyDeleteI never was much for s'mores either.
