S'More [aka: Witch Way To Corpus Christi]...

What's Halloween without treats?
1] I signed up long ago for an emailing from Better Homes and Gardens. Sometimes they have nifty craft ideas, other times holiday themed emails, while other days I get recipes. This past week, I received a notice that S'Mores is all grown up. There were several different ways to make tasty treats within the realm of the oldie but goodie..."S'mores". This one in particular caught my eye...blackberry. YUM!!

White Chocolate & Blackberry S'mores
Ingredients
1/4 of a 4 ounce white chocolate bar
2 chocolate graham crackers or regular graham crackers
2 large marshmallows, toasted*
2 tablespoons blackberry jam

Directions
Place 4 crackers on foil-lined baking sheet. Layer 1 ounce of white chocolate and 2 to 3 large marshmallows on each. Broil 4 inches from heat 30 to 60 seconds. Remove; top with 2 to 3 tablespoons jam. Top with cracker.

From the Test Kitchen
* To toast, place marshmallows on end of long skewer; hold over flame 30 to 60 seconds, turning frequently.

2] This year, I didn't buy too many witch dolls and figurines to add to my collection. Everywhere I went in search of some new ones, they seemed all the same or all too similar to the ones I already have. That's okay. But I did find three and brought them home to the others. This is an eclectic collection of what's around the house. Pumpkins, jack-o-lanterns that light up, a couple of candle holders [I show just one] that hold tea light candles, a pair of earrings I made from two necklaces [I wear earrings, rarely necklaces], and of course a spider...

...most of my witches are on the entertainment center and the fireplace mantel.

3] After an entire day outdoors the other day, working in the back yard and the resurfacing of the patio, we both were tuckered out. No cooking, no cleaning in the kitchen...we ordered pizza!! I enjoyed the dedication [and humor] of this when our pizza was delivered to the house. A cheese lover myself, I personally want to thank Stella, Nancy, Edna, Estelle and Abigail.  Y'all made my evening relaxing just 'cause you get up at 4a.m. to share your wholesome goodness with us all....each and every day, come rain or shine ---

4] A walk in the cemetery for ghostly scenes [digital software tricks]...

...and a All Hallow's Eve Vulture

  1. I love the spooky atmosphere you have created in this post. From the cell tower image, to those wonderful decorations. Smores are not common here in Europe, but they do look good!

  22. I was drooling all over myself looking at your White Chocolate-Blackberry S'more, then I hit the part that gave the calorie count, Gulp! I could do it if I skipped breakfast and lunch and had popcorn for dinner (I thought to myself). You laugh? I have been know to do such things with other irresistable goodies. I will let you know if I take the plunge.

I love all of your Halloween stuff ... It is so cool to get emersed in a collection and then be able to share it with the world on these special occasions. If I had it to do over, I would choose to collect something that I could tie into a holiday ... then I could bring them out and put them away before they all needed to be dusted. As it is, I collected elephants all of my life and now they are all collecting dust ... not sure what to do with them. Know anyone who wants to buy an elephant collection? Anyway, Hootin' Annie, I can' see that you get great joy out of your collections and out of celebrating Halloween with all of it's trimming. Of course, I love the Vulture because I love Vultures even when it isn't Halloween. Enjoyed every minute of this post ...

  37. Hi Anni
Thank you for the new S'mores recipe. Ironically I bought graham crackers today.
Why...because yesterday I found a jar of Hershey's chocolate spread at Trader Joe's for 1/2 the cost at the grocery store. I was planning to smother the graham crackers with chocolate.
thanks to you I gave NCSI: New Orleans another shot. Maybe the 'accent' is less or I'm getting used to it.
Going out for supper tonight to the Black Cat Cafe....new place
