Just a photo of me at the parking lot of beach access near Whitecap on the island the other day. I'm pointing at my new Proud Parent of a Marine car decal - the old one I had on the trunk was badly faded. I then cropped the photo and am now using it as my blogger profile image.
...Wednesday evening, I'll be posting here about a new meme I set up for fun and challenge. Do return for a visit if you can!!
PSS...Oorah is a chant call for the Marines. It's spoken a lot around our household and during phone conversations with Erik, our Marine. Once a Marine, always a Marine. And another note, our car is especially USMC colors...the Marine Colors are Scarlet and Gold...our car is red with gold interior. Yes, if you really wonder, I AM a Proud Parent of a Marine!! He, among thousands of others put his life on the front line during the Gulf War.
What a gem you are :)
ReplyDeleteGo Anni!!!
ReplyDeleteI am sure you are very proud to have a hero for a son. This week, we in New Zealand are mourning, Our first death in ten years of our serviceman serving overseas.
ReplyDeleteI think you must be praying for your son's safely everyday.
What's your meme about?
I can see why you would be a proud parent. My son is in the Coast Guard and we are very proud of him as well. This is a very nice picture of you.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to learning about your new meme.
So Eric has been a Marine for a long time now. Bless him for his service. My oldest son, 39, is an AF reservist for many years, now a tech sgt, in Germany with his C17 squadron for four months. He repairs the computer navigation systems. Prior to C17s, he worked with C5s. He's been activated for a total of four years out of the last ten..never combat duty, though - for one, the C5s were never put down in Iraq or Afghanistan. He did spend six months in Kuwait.
ReplyDeleteI pray your son stays safe!!!
Great shot! :D
ReplyDeleteNote No, Erik is no longer an active Marine. He is now a professor of Government in a Houston University! Their motto is "Once a Marine, always a Marine". Like I stated above, he was active during the Gulf War.
ReplyDeleteSemper Fi
ReplyDeleteYes, you have a right to be a Proud Parent of a Marine. Be sure to give him an extra hug for me and tell him THANK YOU!!

Red cars go faster. You must be very proud of your son.

ReplyDeleteThat red car is awesome!! I use to own a red Mitsibushi and I loved it!!
ReplyDeleteI also have a Marine, my son is a Gunny Sargent (spelling ?) His career will end in about three years. He plans to retire.
Of course you're proud, you should be. After all, you're his mama. It is men like your son and others who keep us safe, and I'm grateful. Tell him thank you from me.
ReplyDeleteGuess I'll check back tomorrow and see what kind of fun you have in store. ;)
Proud moms and blazing red cars seem to go together!
ReplyDeleteperfect red!
ReplyDeletei will be back....

You're looking great in front of your new car, perhaps because you are thinking of your son Erik.
ReplyDeleteI like his name. Both my brother and my grandpa have Erik as a part of their double first names.
Erik is used a lot in Scandinavia.
Best known in Norway is king Erik Bloodaxe, son of Harald the Fair Haired.
# 2 in our row of kings from year 872.
Wishing the best for your Erik and the US Marines.
My nephew Marine put his life on the line in Iraq, Anni! He's home now thanks goodness! :)
ReplyDeleteVery cute picture of you!

ReplyDeleteA fine RT post, Anni. I'll drop by again tomorrow to check out your new meme.
ReplyDeleteHi Anni,
ReplyDeleteNeat photo of you. But the copyright is really obscuring it, a lot. Is it really likely that someone will "steal" this image? You might consider dialing it back a bit. Great image, though. Love the Marines color car. You must be so proud of your son.
I'll be away tomorrow for a bit. Hope I hear about your new meme later.
Love the new image. You do look like a proud parent.
