As I mentioned in my previous post, the ship channel was quite busy. Of course I took pictures. I love watching the ships come into the channel to reach the ports o' call [Ingleside or Corpus]. I will just share what I saw the short time I was there, without much further chit chat...

The one image with the huge scooping machine is where they are in the process of repairing a broken jetty from Hurricane Harvey...three years ago!! I also took a few zoomed-in photos too [The first top left image is where they turn the ship into the channel from being anchored at sea waiting for their 'turn' to enter...and the last one in the series below, the ships travel within a few yards of some residential homes!]...

Can't imagine looking out my front window and seeing one of those ships passing by. There sure is a lot to see there. I wouldn't mind hanging out and watching it all.
ReplyDeleteThe ship watching, for me, is one of the highlights.
DeleteYour photos are breathtaking, Anni. Like Ann's comment above, I can't imagine looking out my front window and seeing one of those ships either. I hope those folks realize how blessed they are! ~Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteI'd prefer to live on the OTHER side of the channel...in the lighthouse!
DeleteIn the lighthouse, YES!

ReplyDeleteThose dolphins create a variety show each time!
DeleteHow Cool Is That - Excellent Timing - Well Done

It's fun & cheap entertainment.
DeleteThe water looks so real I half way expected a wave to come thru the monitor.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Such amazing action shots of the dolphins too.

Thanks St. C
DeleteWhat great timing to capture these dolphins leaping in the air! Splendid shots! I always love seeing ships enter the harbor here.
ReplyDeletePractice, practice, practice. lol
DeleteI would be so fascinated seeing those big ships.
ReplyDeleteIt is a good pastime!
DeleteThe dolphins are so friendly and playful! I hope the machinery leaves them alone.
ReplyDeleteThe dolphins are used to all the activity, I think they're safe...so intelligent
DeleteI would love to watch them...a different kind of enjoyment to birds, but enjoyment nevertheless.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely
DeleteMust be nice to watch the ships and I'd love watching the dolphins.
ReplyDeleteThe bigger the ship, the more exciting. (For me anyway)
DeleteI love seeing the dolphins - they always seem so happy!
ReplyDeleteThey do, don't they?
DeleteWow! There's so much going on there. Our little town is pretty sleepy.
ReplyDeleteA quiet place to live is good! IMHO
