I've walked this boardwalk 100 times if not a thousand times. And I never noticed this arrow..."walk this way". The arrow is actually part of the wood grain!!!! As you can see, the point and 'feathers' of the arrow are knots in the wood.
Tuesday morning, it was so hot, so humid, by the time I walked a measly mile and half, I was heading back to my car to go back home. Click, click, click, click...oh what a relief it is! I couldn't unlock the car door fast enough and click on the AC full blast. Miserable. The air so still, the sweat was just pouring off me. Even if I catch a bad cold, I wouldn't change what I did. It was truly insufferable.
Of course, it didn't stop me from taking pictures...

...some miscellaneous photos taken. Oftentimes I post about walking at Packery Channel Park [I've also walked the jetty a few miles away from the park]. Looking east, you can see part of the channel water along the dunes/horizon. A very hazy morning. [left photo] Then, a feather on the Audubon pond, and last this is painted on the side of a house along Sand Dollar Road.
PS...thanks, Sandra, for heading me in the right direction! I found the Blogger's "back to classic" on the left of the admin!!

What a cute Gecko! and the wildflower in the center is so exotic looking, wonder what it is? It is not like you to forget Cinco De Mayo! A perfect in-flight shot!
ReplyDeleteIt's called a Mexican hat.
DeleteItalian food for Cinco De Mayo? Ay yi yi
ReplyDeleteCarumba!
DeleteWe had burritos, although we don't have much in the way of Mexican influences here!
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting how you just found the arrow! Keep up the walking!
Burritos...
DeleteDelicious.
Hello, Love the gecko and the pelican. The arrow is a neat find. Happy Friday, enjoy your day and weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks....enjoy your weekend & happy mother's day Eileen.
DeleteI cannot imagine living in such a hot and humid place. I would wilt in no time at all, much sooner than you did! I find geckoes to be fascinating, so thanks for the pictures of them. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm not much into ANY reptile. Lol
Deletei freaked out when i returned to blogging after 3 days off and could find nothing i reconized. that arrow is amazing, it looks like someone painted it there. don't send you hot humid over here, we have had a week of low humidity and cool temps, odd for us.. i just said to bob when we walked this morning, in a temp of 59 degrees and i had to wear a sweater, enjoy this because that summer humidty is going to slam us. sounds like it slammed you this week
ReplyDeleteWhen I first noticed it the other day I first thought it was burned into the plank...then, realized the feathers & point were knots. 59° sounds perfect for a morning temp!
DeleteI hope no one trips over the nails that jut upwards by the gecko! The unusual flower (image #6) looks like some kind of coneflower. Can you identify it? I cannot imagine such humidity!
ReplyDeleteIt's called a Mexican hat. And it is of the conefliwer family I think. They grow wild around here! Everywhere. This is the flower I drew that was a $200 winner along the botanical gardens walk a couple years ago. Scroll down to the bottom section of my blog.
DeleteHope Nature's arrow was pointing the right direction. Humid sounds really uncomfortable. We are still in sweatshirts here with a frost due this weekend.
ReplyDeleteIt's supposed to turn chilly here over the first part of the weekend. I'm looking forward to it.
DeleteYou must not overdo it when walking in heat. Good thing that you have common sense!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are always wonderful to look at.
Thank you for sharing Anni and Stay Safe 🌷☕🌞
Oh yes...and on top of that -heart meds doesn't help the situation.
DeleteThat humidity really gets to me..I feel like a limp noodle.
ReplyDeletefortunately it isn't humid here in the Sacramento Valley, but the temps are suppose to be between 95 and 100F today. Think I will stay inside until dusk today..too hot !!
Love the pictures, especially the Geckos.
Sue
My gosh...that is downright HOT for your area.
DeleteOh, I can’t imagine walking in such heat and humidity .You still managed some good shots.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't much fun this time.
DeleteI love the flower shots...the arrow in the wood...I thought it was 'drawn on' till I read your words. And of course, I so love the pelican shot!
ReplyDeleteMe too. I love watching Brown pelicans.
DeleteThe arrow is very cool! I love the pelican shot and those geckos too!
