So far this week, I've been staying closer to home during the day. On Tuesday, after Memorial Day weekend I drove to Port A and walked, and enjoyed the day 'til it got too hot for me. I took photos of birds, of course, and ships on the channel. Also I was able to capture some dolphins in the channel guiding the cargo ship out to sea. Those photos are not off the camera card yet, so it'll be a few days before I get them posted. Wednesday, I cleaned house and did a long time coming job...dusting and waxing furniture and window sills. Thursday, we stayed home throughout the day; I mowed and Bud edged the yards. So, for this post I just picked random photos from my monthly folders of the more general of nature's finest to share...

Sunrise at the Audubon Sanctuary [same day, different locale]

Water Lily at the Wetlands

Park Trail

Tree fungus...I thought it was beautiful!

Mexican Bird of Paradise in our back yard --with a wasp. I hate wasps. Got stung by one as a kid [when I was five and I can remember it like it was yesterday], and for two days vomited green slime---bet you really didn't wanna know that, did you?

White Tailed deer at the Seashore

Wildflower along Pollywog Pond Trail
Nature Friday
...and PS, Andrea, if you're here [and didn't read my response to your comment on my post of musicals Cats], I just wanted to tell you that your words 'sounded' like Bud so much. Yet, he'd take his hatred of musicals one step further...I won't reiterate tho. But it really made me laugh, out loud, literally!
You've had a nice and busy week!
ReplyDeleteThe sunrise and the Water Lily are beautiful but I like more the tree fungus ... Nicely done Anni!
Have a nice day and a great weekend ahead!
The texture under the fungus was so intricate. Thanks Ella.

You wouldn't want to take a trip to Pennsylvania and do some dusting here would ya?
ReplyDeleteI find tree fungus totally fascinating
Lol...dusting is not something I like doing. The last time I waxed was just after Christmas. Seriously.
Delete*LOL* Now I don't feel so alone, knowing that Bud is in the anti-musical trench with me. Sometime, when you two are sitting by yourselves & it's kind of quiet, start humming "Singing in the Rain" to him... and tell him it's a tune from his buddy, Andrea. *haha* :-)
ReplyDeleteOmg...THAT one he hates with a passion (and not to forget Gene Kelly)
DeleteYour photos are just gorgeous! Love that waterlily♥
ReplyDeleteThanks you two!
DeleteI hate wasps also, one dropped down the back of my dress when i was 15, just outside of the door to our church, mother rushed me in a SS room and i jerked my dress over my head and she beat it off, it stung me several times. i hate all sting bugs.. most of all the wasp. the flower the wasp is on, we had 3 bushes of them and the drought killed them and I had mailed off all the seeds a few years ago.
ReplyDeleteall your photos are gorgesous and i am picking that stunning piece of art, the fungus as my favorite today
Ohhhh, dear. What an ordeal with the wasp!
DeleteHello, love the sunrise and flowers. Cute shot of the deer. I do not like wasps, I've been stung too. Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks Eileen.
DeleteGreat photos.
ReplyDeleteWe're in a hot spell, about to break tomorrow, though.
Oh it was hot here this morning.
DeleteIncredibly beautiful sunrise!! And the beautiful photo of the water lily leaves me speechless. I did so enjoy this entire post! Thank you and have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Enjoy your day too
DeleteSuch wonderful pictures, Anni. You never fail to make me feel better when I read your posts. And that bluebird makes me smile!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen bluebirds yet. Guess I hafta wait for Fall.
DeleteI envy you for finding that beautiful fungus! What a shot! I wouldn't even get close enough to take a picture of a wasp like you did. Been stung - AWFUL!
ReplyDelete...think zoom lens!
DeleteA great series of photos. That fungus is a beauty.
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen.
DeleteSunrises always put hope in our hearts don't they and that first picture is a beauty. A new day, who knows what good may happen??
ReplyDeleteGreen slime?? That would give one a live long fear.
Oh yes, and I felt awful because of it. Bad allergic reaction.
DeleteWhat gorgeous Nature walk photos. That fungus is magnificent and the water lily too.
ReplyDeleteLove them all.
Ewww on the wasp sting..so sorry for your reaction...eww...
THAT reaction was memorable. I don't recall any doctor or mom panicky.
DeleteThese are all just glorious, and really showcase your talent at photography! The sunrise is wonderful, it even shows the different levels of heat. I am starting to feel hot! and the fungus is very pretty and fancy. Your Bird Of Paradise is gorgeous, but I hate wasps. I hope you were using a very long zoom!
ReplyDeleteYes...standing far away, and zoom.
DeleteSuch beautiful photos. That fungus looks pretty amazing. Fungus comes in so many different shapes, sizes and colors!
ReplyDeleteThe underside was pretty fascinating to me.
DeleteThanks for sharing this nice variety of images. That fungi looks huge.
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty big.
DeleteI don't know where to begin...you sure have some beautiful photographs here! And got to go back and read the comment to see what made you laugh!
DeleteHer words could've been right out of Bud's mouth.
DeleteThese are beautiful sunrise photos. And that deer! I have always thought it's a gift to see a deer. You know, I'm a morning person, and I often see the sunrises more than the sunsets. This one is surely pretty. That looks like a black-eyed Susan at the end.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Sunday and thank you for stopping by on my china cabinet post. It's been a treasure of mine for many years. Can't seem to part with it. : )
~Sheri
