When I share my beach walks, I'm usually aiming my camera lens to the sea [or focusing on birds walking the shore or flying high above me]. Today, I thought I'd be a bit different, and show y'all what is behind me...behind the beach and the Gulf. After walking on the sand, dodging the seasonal influx of seaweed, I walked along the jetty clear out to sea, to the very end, then I climbed the sand dunes this time; for a work out. By the way, if you notice the cross erected on one of the dunes, I must tell you this is a scene that can be a frequent sighting. People put up memorials for those lost at sea from unfortunate mishaps ...drowning or perhaps totally lost from being caught in those dangerous rip currents.
The dunes...
The dunes...

...and the sea:

LOVE all of these. It's so pretty there.
ReplyDeleteI try to show how beautiful it can be.
DeleteLove all your photos, but especially the crashing waves. You do such a great job with your post, Anni. I enjoy "visiting" you and taking a walk along with you. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhen there is some 'wave action', I enjoy it so much more than calm seas.
Deletelove those dunes and those splashing waves.. i think i can hear the seagulls screaming while looking. gorgeous photos once again
ReplyDeleteMe too. When on the beach, laughing gulls are 'a must'.
DeleteI can smell the sea and am a bit homesick. You lost me at climbing the dunes. Impressive.
ReplyDeleteI admit, I pay more attention to the water...and the dunes are so much a part of the surroundings.
DeleteGreat wave captures! I like the para glider and the twin dunes.
ReplyDeleteI always like to watch & photograph waves.
DeleteYour tenacity shows with great results from dune climbing. The dunes are important and need to be preserved. Love this post.
ReplyDeleteIndeed.

ReplyDeleteThanks Carol
DeleteLove those waves crashing into the shore.
ReplyDeleteGreat! Glad you enjoyed the photos.
DeleteI am so glad you showed us the other view...I love those of the dunes!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rose.
DeleteIt's nice to see this view - so pretty! The cross is pretty too, but sad when you realize why it is there.
ReplyDeleteYes to know the majority are gone much too young.
DeleteI think the closest I can get is to the ocean is Lake Michigan where there are actually some cool dunes but if it rains anymore maybe a body of water will move to my doorstep. Wonderful photos, I feel as if I'm there. So cool you see and photograph falcons.
ReplyDeleteIt's been years since Ixve been up that far ... to the Great Lakes region.
DeleteThose dunes and splashing waves are fantastic, Anni. So sad about the cross.
ReplyDeleteThe sad part is, there are too many.
