Got a good reason For taking the easy way out

What a Day This Has Been!!!

IN THE NEWS: Bill Cosby was found GUILTY on three accounts of his retrial....10 years each!!!!

Now that that is off my chest, I'll get to my blog post. I've been very busy. Yard work, house work, and the all important migratory birds and photographing them. On Tuesday, I drove to Refugio, Texas once more. I left early and came home late. Another day, a hawk watch friend invited us to his backyard for a sighting of a very rare hummingbird at his feeders! I got there about 9:00 a.m., and by 9:45 I was ready to leave. I forgot to use bug/mosquito repellent and I was being eaten alive! lol....besides, the rare hummingbird made an appearance, I had my photos of it for the record, and I thought since I'm out and about, I might as well go to another park and get some walking in. Another day, another park...Again, I found and recorded with photos, another rarity here in South Texas...a special oriole. Photos are being worked on and getting primed to fill more frames for my in-home, on the wall, bird sanctuary. Also, readying them for my bird photo blog.

Now, before getting to some pictures I took of Refugio, Texas, I thought I'd make you laugh a bit.

All the photos [100s!!]...I booted the computer today, only to find that they were NOT IN MY FILES! Anywhere!!! I did a quick turn-about, spent 3 hours recovering the pictures....

I was stressed. I never recalled deleting any photos. I had them all resized, ready to put on my blog...and nope, nowhere to be found. On top of this dilemma, I couldn't connect to Blogger through my phone admin!!! We had a cold front move in last night with rain and a temperature drop of nearly 30 degrees...Bud said, as I was Pssssin' and Moanin'..."It musta been too cold for your hotspot!!" Finally, I retrieved them with a recovery software program. Had them reinstalled...for some reason, got on my desktop to get something Bud wanted...and....YEP!! They were on my DESKTOP, NOT LAPTOP all this time!! Lord have mercy. Just one of those days!!!

Okay, some of my day trip on Tuesday...

...seen were hawks, turtles, grosbeaks, warblers, kingfishers, kiskadees, frogs galore, doves, vultures, ducks, and just two humans besides me! Nice, quiet, beautiful sunny day had.

  2. So glad you found the birds you went to find and that you got all these gorgeous pictures for us to look at and I am laughing my head off at the desktop laptop story. I am having things like that happen more and more but not that particular thing. So it's not just losing my water glass when I set it down somewhere but losing the photos and having them on the wrong computer bra haha thanks for sharing I needed a laugh

    1. Oh me too! And it's not WHO he is....it's justice and hopefully more awareness of women's rights to their bodies & men respecting more instead of dominance & over-powering women & children.

  13. I have made that same mistake in the past. Now that I get all my pictures on all my devices from the cloud, it doesn't happen any more. But you sure reminded me of times gone by. Love your pictures. :-)

  15. As I was reading your story about loosing the photos and was feeling your anxiety and then felt relief after you got back on track. I back up on iCloud and Shutterfly plus discs. These pictures are very nice and relaxing to view.

    1. well, once I resize them they go on a disc. That's good enough for me. a cloud is only good for your service provider, right?

    2. I understand that this is my iCloud.....iCloud is built into every Apple device. That means all your stuff — photos, files, notes, and more — is safe, up to date, and available wherever you are. And it works automatically, so all you have to do is keep doing what you love. Everyone gets 5GB of free iCloud storage to start, and it's easy to add more at any time.

    3. I think my carrier has 5GB free also. I just think if I ever decide to change carriers ... the photos will no longer be available to me, so, disk is safer.

  16. Nice photos and enjoyed hearing about your outing. I have an aging laptop that is way out of date but you know, it is dependable and never loses anything so I am hanging on to it.
