Oh Beautiful...

This year, for me anyway, being that there will be a lot of politicking and our country's future at stake once again, I have been in a very patriotic mood. I must admit that since my heart attack, I really have not been much on taking out my holiday decorations. For some reason today, I sat down on the floor and opened the bottom of the hutch and started dragging out anything that was red, white and blue.  From resin figurines, to patriotic tinsel garland, red white and blue candles, covered frosted white, red and blue glass decanters, a Betsy Ross figurine and even brought out an 'ancient' eagle music box.  In the fifth photo from the beginning I really like how the flag lights reflect on the red glass decanter...

Yes, God Bless America.

  1. I like your decorations...the only thing I have out is the flag I just made that is hanging on the front door. Since we moved from Alabama 3 yrs ago to upstate NY, I have no idea where anything is (or even if it made it on the truck)...sad to say.

  2. i have no decorations of any kind in my house for any occasion other than a few Christmas things and not many of those. my mother took all the decorating genes and i got zilch... she would love all this red white and blue and loved decorating for every thing she could... i just did a memory search of my house and i have one red blouse and a couple of red candles.. nothing blue at all... i like the way the lights reflect in that pic to. i do love small white lights, and keep the strand of them in the nook year round.. they come on when we get up and off when we go to bed.. i like the way the glass sparkles in light. alas alack on politics all over the world is all i can say.

    1. I surprised myself somewhat for the fact I brought out some red white and blue. I make sure I have my Halloween, but lately nothing much else these days.

  5. I have decorations for every single holiday but some have not come out of storage in a very long time. I like all your patriotic decorations and the best thing is that kind of stuff can really stay out all year long.

  8. I'll enjoy your patriotic decorations and those of my nearby neighbors. I don't even decorate for Christmas, just a pretty wreath. Love your stuff, though! :-)

    1. You're like my sister, she 'enjoys everything Christmas' through neighbors' decorations.

  9. I love them ALL! The music box is splendid! And I love those little flags that light up! Are they LED lights? Even if we are downhearted by the candidates, we can still celebrate that we live in the U.S.A.!

  11. Too cute! I used to decorate for everything all the time, but I've slacked off quite a bit over the years. It's not nearly as much "fun" as it used to be to get it all out, put it all up, take it all down, put it all away; get the next one out, put it all up, take it all down, put it all away; get the next one out....

    Meh. ;o)

  12. I enjoy seeing patriotic displays.
I'm hanging on to the thought I saw on a church sign: "No matter who is president, Jesus is King!
I'll be joining in your meme later today
    Have a great week-end!

  20. I just ordered a new mouse pad with a photo of the flag and one of my melted bead creations. Now I will be working on James' holiday embellishment. Of course we are VERY patriotic as we know what this country means to us.

  21. Your decorations are so cool! We have only a few, but not as neat as yours. Our main focus is our flag pole in front of our house. That was our big project having the stones laid and the pole set about three years ago. We are on the way home from the ship now and will be flying Old Glory once again as soon as we are home.

    1. We had a flag pole at our home in Colorado and AZ, but for some reason never got around to it here. Odd.

      Thanks Lois.
