Care to Color?

GOOD FENCES

I'm sure, unless you live under a rock, you've been seeing or reading about the newest craze for adults. Psychologically, they're supposed to be a healthy outlet of relieving stressors that interfere with the over-all health. I, on the other hand, think it's just something fun. Heck, I see crayons or colored pencils and like a force that draws me near...I doodle. I've always enjoyed the pastime. Coloring. So, for several months now, I've been wanting to get me one of those new 'popular' coloring books for adults....I bought two yesterday [one of fairies and the other an eclectic 'calming' one filled with different types of images to color in]. I'm now in the debate mode of what to buy...."fine tipped felt tipped markers" or "colored pencils". I'm leaning toward the latter since there are probably more variety of colors...after my appointment with my heart surgeon [the one who performed the stent placement last March], I will head to Hobby Lobby and/or Michaels. I've skimmed through the two books I purchased once I got back home and see there is quite a bit of detail and fine coloring to be done. At this point then, I'm leaning toward colored pencils for a second reason. If it becomes something enjoyable, in the future I may go back and buy a couple more books...I almost bought three since another one I really liked  was filled with all the Victorian, impressionist classics in art. Another that caught my interest was butterflies and birds. I look forward to the 'new' adventure on a wet rainy day that keeps me indoors!!

Speaking of "wet and rainy"...I started receiving hurricane alerts yesterday on my app! In January? Yes indeed!!! There is quite a large storm out there in the Atlantic. An 'out of season' storm.  I really don't think, by the path graphics, that he'll make landfall...but so unusual.   He's been named Alex.

Oh ya....I wanted to mention.....I'm a winner of the Powerball Lottery.  Really, you say?  Yep.  I got the PB #.  That's $4.00 I think, isn't it?  I'd much rather it stay in the pot to build it up to the billion mark again in a few months.  They can keep my winnings.  lol

    1. I love working puzzles too. Thing is, these days, I have no place to keep it out and continue working on them day after day.

I hope the coloring is fun.

  2. I've seen the coloring books but I'm not inclined to use them. You, however, are much more artistic than I am and might really come up with some frameables. :-)

  3. Good morning!
My sister-in-law gave me an adult coloring book for Christmas. It came with a small set of colored pencils, but I quickly discovered I needed more colors! I colored one page just to try it out, but I really enjoy crossword puzzles more.
    Pretty fence photo!
    Have a great day!

    1. Ya, I hope to find a good supply of many VARIED colored pencils...not just the red/green/yellow/blue type. Oh I too like crosswords...and hangman. They go 'hand in hand' in my opinion.

  7. My daughter colors in these books all of the time ... she is handicapped and doesn't get out much and the coloring does entertain her and calm her. I will tell you color pencils are best because often the pens bleed through to the next page. We have been doing this for years and this year it seems to have caught fire. I am glad because now there will be many new ones put out to satisfy the insatiable public. Have fun, Annie ... you can be as creative as you want with these ... there are no rules :) And ... by, the way, your fence picture is gorgeous :)

  8. WooHoo I joined that bandwagon too. Before Christmas my daughter asked for a list...I told it it was easy...I want an adult coloring book and pencils. She was tickled pink.
She selected at book of gorgeous Cat drawings. My friend gave me a wild life coloring book for my bday. I'm set and it is so relaxing. I've always love coloring.

  21. Used to be years ago before I started blogging I colored. I liked geometric or art deco designs and I loved using colored pencils. I loved the friction and the sound of the pencils on the paper. When I started blogging I gave it up. I think it is totally cool and I'm thinking about starting it up again.

  27. Lovely fence image. Nothing green here right now. I used to have my behavior disordered students color mandalas. It worked like a charm to calm them, so I knew about this before it was cool. LOL Never thought it would grow to be so popular, but I do know why!
