Old wooden window panes on a house built in the late 1800s early 1900s and a rusted, twisted windchime that has seen better days...

When I have camera in hand and it's on and the battery is primed and readied...it's not always birds I focus on. Especially when it's a quiet day for bird sightings---
These two collages are of wildflowers, roses, holly, water lily, ships, alligators, farley boats that are found all over the village, Port Aransas, Texas, wasps' nests, holly growing wild, fungus and dragonflies on the radio antenna [and below, a couple of good fences]....

Of course most times, it's all about birding, and birds!! And sometimes spotting a feather floating on the water's surface now and then. While other times the word 'birdwatching' is a completely different concept. A bird watching me...

Finding an old weathered fence is always good, it's good luck at times to find some wildlife and bright red flora adding a bit of charm to an otherwise plain barbed wire fence giving the barbs a dash of color...

I LOVE your pretty collages. I think I'll do the same, since it's a great way to show off related images and make the whole even better than they are alone! And what a beautiful flycatcher! :-)
ReplyDelete...glad you enjoyed this DJ
DeleteYhe flycatcher has an amazingly long tail! Yep. the wind chime has seen better days. I wonder if it were untwisted if it would still have a pretty sound though.

DeleteYou always find such delightful things to capture. I'm the same way, especially when I'm out and about, always with camera in hand, or cell phone camera!
ReplyDeleteYep, I don't leave home without my phone camera of course, but most always carry along the 'good' camera on outings if I know I'm gonna be out and about, walking. Thanks Karen.
DeleteLots of pretty and interesting pictures here today. I especially like the Flycatcher. It seems to be very interested in you.

Your collages are so pretty but my favorite of all your pictures is the feather. That one is just awesome.
ReplyDelete...thank you very much Ann.
DeleteFantastic photos! I loved them all. Oh, how I love scissortails! I remember the first time I ever saw one...we were driving and suddenly a bird flew in front of my car, did a loop, and then flew on. We were astounded. A LOOP! Later I had them in my yard in the right season and loved watching them. The scissortails and the painted buntings were new to me, and I wish I'd had a decent camera when we lived there then. There would have been some great photos. But, I loved yours today. Photography can be very rewarding and here on the blogs we get to see so many things we've never seen before.
ReplyDelete...thanks Marie. And for the most part, bloggers and blogging are so friendly [there are some with an 'attitude' tho --NOT friendly and very "I'm right and you're wrong" yada, yada, yada] ---and there is so much to see with blogs as you say.
DeleteI'm always amaze with how neat your photos are. Mainly how you do them.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on
...thank you kindly Dora
DeleteIn Malaysia and Indonesia, they make the windchimes from bamboo.

DeleteThanks Hazel.
What gorgeous collages and lovely feather shots.
ReplyDelete...thanks Fiona
Delete...thanks Felicia
ReplyDeleteI do like the flycatcher! It makes me think of some of our parrots with its pose - although its not colourful enough!
ReplyDeleteIf the truth be told, a rich dude did buy the building and try to make a hotel, but when he found out he would have to keep the facade he just pulled the pin on the project and left the block idle - some people have more money than sense!
Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne (who may be having 'word verification' issues on his blog!!)
...hope your blog issues clear up Stewart. Yep, money and common sense oftentimes don't mix.
DeleteI love listening to wind chimes. This one makes me want to untangle it and see if it still has a song. Beautiful flowers and that feather on the water is awesome!
ReplyDelete...thanks Betty. I too would've liked to get my hands on that rusty ol' wind chime and untangle it.

ReplyDeleteRe, the food in the feeder ....just plain shelled red skinned peanuts

DeleteAs always, the pictures and words are great.
ReplyDeleteWe spent so many fun summer times on the island of Port Aransas. Sure miss going there every summer.
...thanks bj!! And by the way, Port A is one of my favorite places in our area. So quaint and lovely...friendly people, pretty country, excellent birding...a perfect paradise.
DeleteYou made some really pretty collages. What program did you use if you don't mind me asking... As we are moving toward winter, I want to be out as much as possible as you are...Michelle
ReplyDelete...thanks Michelle...
DeleteI use my software program PSP pro. No two collages I make are the same. I begin with an extra large image in pixels and then cut/trim my images to fit sporadically.
Love the fences and the collages!
ReplyDelete...thanks Stephanie
DeleteOld weathered fences are pretty cool but I'm thinking that shot with the hummingbird stole the show. Your collages were very pretty and that bird was so neat, love it's long tail feathers.
ReplyDelete...thanks Ida
DeleteI miss those scissortailed flycatchers! Used to see them in Texas all the time. Haven't spotted one here yet, though I read of sightings every so often. Enjoyed your collages very much. Take care and have a great weekend!
