When I saw this stuff hangin' from a truck's bumper the other day, the children's song came to mind. Of course, I was humming the song all the way home...but really...after the initial shock of seeing this, I had to go back and pull out my phone to get a picture of it. Afterall, I'm only human...and a little giggling now and then is okay in my book. Tho it may not be appropriate for some Shadow Seekers, this is what I am gonna post anyway. And if I offend anyone, I apologize. But I gotta be me, what else can I be? rofl
Do your ears BALLS hang low?
Do they wobble to and fro?
Can you tie 'em in a knot?
Can you tie 'em in a bow?
Can you throw 'em o'er your shoulder
Like a continental soldier
Do your ears BALLS hang low?

Also, when I went out to Google to perform a search for the correct lyrics yesterday, I opened up my Google Bookmark, and this header came to my view [enlarge for bigger, readable views]:
Aha!! Someone else was celebrating a birthday, like I was. Out of curiosity, I had to find out just who else had a birthday, so I moved my mouse to the candle/cupcake graphic that spelled out "Google"... and to my utter surprise, the textarea box [the alt code] said "Happy Birthday Hootin'!" I couldn't believe my eyes. How did they, at Google, do that? I was shocked. Google has had these kinds of headers for special holidays, birthdays of the 'greats' like Einstein, Martin Luther King, American Independence, etc. But Hootin' Anni? No, couldn't be. So I clicked on the header and it then redirected to my Google Plus Profile. Amazing.
...and, to be honest, there for a few moments, I was in complete memory loss as to why I went out to Google in the first place. Oh ya, to find lyrics so I could copy, paste and share. Now, I feel a bit ashamed of myself for thinking as I did, on the lyric revision that is, and feeling compelled to have a bit of fun for when preparing a shadow post on Saturday afternoon. But, what the heck, at my age...well, never mind!!! However it was all done, and whoever came up with this idea, I must say, the birthday was made extra special for me. Thanks Google, and thanks to whoever did this. I was completely speechless at the time, and really quite elated at the same time. Wow.

You are having a most unusual birthday! The impromptu surprises are the best kind! I had to ask hubby what he thought the photo represented! Then I did the mouse trick and he was right and I was wrong! I thought the answer was "b--bs"! Well! They fit the song too! Love this post!
ReplyDeleteLOL...well, the lyrics...b**bs would be more fitting I suppose, right? rofl.
DeleteROFL you picked the perfect lyrics for that picture. I've see a couple of those hanging off trucks around here and they always make me laugh.
ReplyDeleteVERY cool that google does that. What a neat surprise
...LOL...glad you liked my pick of poetry. rofl
DeleteHa! I love the song you picked for this. I remember singing it in elementary school - of course you have a whole new twist to things here. :)
ReplyDeleteThe Google surprise is cool too!
...new twist? Oh Mari, don't do that to me, I could really get, well....never mind.
DeleteI see those things hanging on trucks here and I just can't figure out the why of it...but now I will always think of your song when I do spot them!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea Google was doing that...neat, but a little startling, to be sure. Not only is Big Brother watching us, but Google is, too!
I don't know how they did that, but I do know that my birthday is on Google Plus. And the 'balls' bumper hanger thing is the first I saw of them. Goes to show you how much I pay attention. rofl
DeleteIt's a little scary to realize how public our lives have become. Those of us with blogs, especially. But anyway, Happy Birthday again! :-)
ReplyDeleteyes, scary, but this was a fun surprise.
DeleteHappy belated Birthday, Anni!! Amazing how easy they are to forget -- even our own!! Maybe that's one of the good things about getting old -- most of the time I'd like to forget mine anyway!! Fun post for the day as always!! Love that old song, hadn't heard it in a long time!
ReplyDelete...thanks Sylvia
DeleteWow that is really cool that you found your birthday on Google like that. And, as for the song, I spend day after day singing that song to the little ones when we visit. They love it and the ice cream truck also plays that tune!
ReplyDeleteI like your shadow shot. It's always good to have a sense of humor. I haven't seen any of those lately on any trucks around here.
Happy Shadow Sunday! :-)
...I admit, I've never seen such a thing, and the humor of it really made me laugh.
Deletewell Happy, Happy Birthday, Day Anni!! very cute post!!!
ReplyDelete...thanks Robin
DeleteWe have a number of guys with those on their trucks. I "get it" but think it is pretty disgusting.
ReplyDelete...and all I saw was the humor of it. LOL
DeleteWow, you even have Google wishing you a happy birthday! Spooky, maybe you put your birthday on a profile somewhere. YES, I saw this hanging from a vehicle a few months ago and couldn't believe my eyes!!! I have seen it only once. Wishing you a great Sunday!
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long time since I've checked my Google Plus, but I do think my birthday is recorded there.
DeleteHaha, cute! Google's omnipresence is a little daunting sometimes. Happy birthday again!
ReplyDeleteat first I was shocked, then realized they were doing an act of kindness which made it all the better.
Deleteeveryone sees you! Right. And of course you have the right to post fun stuff. :)
ReplyDeleteonce in a while a bit corny too.
Deleteha,ha! I'm not offended, so no apologies. It's funny, though, b/c a different song came to mind for me..."ding-dong bell". Just change a vowel and add an S!
ReplyDelete...oh ya, good song choice too.
DeleteThat picture and the song cracked me up!!! WTG Google remembering your b-day...BUT how did they know did you have to enter your b-day somewhere along the way?
ReplyDeleteHugs
Madi and C
I think by my Google Plus. Not sure just how it all came about.
DeleteThat birthday wish is too cool...and BTW Happy Birthday! That picture is priceless with a capital "P". I laughed as soon as I saw it! No apologies necessary young lady!
ReplyDelete...okay good to know I didn't offend you Chuck. ;o) It's good to read a man's perspective of it all.
DeleteHope your birthday has been wonderful. I have seen those hanging on a truck or two also, I just don't "get it." May be it's a self esteem thing...lolol. The song that came to mind was "my ding a ling," by Chuck Berry I think.
ReplyDelete"Now this here song it ain't so bad
Prettiest little song that you ever had
And those of you who will not sing
must be playing with your own Ding-a-ling"
What a song! Do you remember it?
until next time...nel
...OH yes, I remember this song too. Makes me giggle.
DeleteI used to teach that song to kids at summer camp but now I will think of it a little differently. It is perfect for the photo.
ReplyDeleteGoogle wants to keep track of all of us. It is cool that they gave you a birthday greeting.
Happy Birthday Anni!
...thanks S Queen!!
DeleteHahaha it reminds me of the vehicle we saw with the stuff hanging as well...
ReplyDeleteMy Shadow
Have a great week ahead.
...glad you enjoyed it Rose.
DeleteThat was a surprise, wasn't it.....Happy Birthday
ReplyDeleteThe shadow photo is great, I'd have had to do the same thing and grab a camera.....
