Memorial Day Lesson to learn and remember....

REMEMBER: .....
It is the
VETERAN,
not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the
VETERAN who
salutes the Flag,

...and...

It is
the
VETERAN
who serves
under the Flag.

[the Marine flag draped casket it not my photo...it was in a Memorial day 'forwarded' email. Remember those who served. Somehow over the years, Memorial Day has become more military orientated....but we too must remember our loved ones who have left us behind....serving the country or OTHERS. If traveling, buckle up, drive safely and have fun]

  9. Happy Memorial Day to you and yours, dear Anni. Here in Canada we don't have that holiday, instead we have Remembrance Day in November to honour those who fought for our country and those who still are. xoxo
