Yesterday we left early [dumb enough to leave the house during the rush hour!] and drove to Port Aransas, stopping at four different birding areas. I got photos galore, so be expecting many bird photos. And of course, they're most all waterfowl [except for a tanager and a couple others]. Golly, wonder why they're all mostly water birds? I took over 50 photos and am working on them to make them smaller in size to load quicker on the 'net. It was a lovely morning. The two of us met some nice people who were interested in birding also. The weather was super...tho, a bit windy in one area. We remained at Aransas for about 4 to 5 hours, wishing we could walk around the areas longer and go to others, but I had laundry waiting at home to be finished. There's always another day, another season. Stay tuned....

  18. I love Port A. Did you go to the birding area that's right downtown across from the Tropic Island RV Park (I think it's called Jim's Pond, but not sure). Anyway that was the first place we stayed at Port A and it is great birding. We saw so many new birds there. We go back to the pond every time we're there although we've stayed somewhere different .

thanks for dropping by FT-L. I'm glad we live in a tropical area now too!

  29. Good Morning Annie Sweetie...
I adore this post. Love the birds you know me. Take me to the ocean anytime, and whatever is there, I love it. The birds are so fascinating though. They glide with the greatest of ease and are so graceful it is like watching them dance in the sky. A beautiful ballet of sorts.

I can hear the water crashing around the area, and smell the ocean air. I can hear the birds calling to each other. I love the sounds and sites of the shore. You are so blessed to be so close to go whenever you want. How wonderful that must be.

I pray you are well. I am now having pain in my lower right lung, so will have to have that checked out. I am afraid the cold has worsened into something that needs antibiotics for sure. What a deal. I think it was the change in climates for me. Not sure.

Have a gorgeous week sweetie. I so adore you. Country hugs and much love...Sherry

What does Hootin stand for? I,m curious, beacuse many years ago, we had a very popular band in Sweden called, Hootenanny Singers! One of them; Björn Ulveus later started ABBA, wich I´m sure you heard!
