First the tide rushes in Plants a kiss on the shore Then rolls out to sea And the sea is very still once more....
6:15 A.M. To not confuse others, there are 2 islands on the Texas coast with the name Padre Island....so I added a small map to show you where this photo is taken... On north Padre Island, Texas [this is a different island than SOUTH PADRE...it's just south east of Corpus...NOT the Brownsville Texas Island!!!] View the map, you can see TWO islands...south and north Padre. This photo above, is the NORTH island = about 20 miles from home...White Cap Beach
Mmmmmm I loved the tall, dark Righteous Brother. Oh hey, and your picture is great too! I used to think I wanted to live on South Padre Island (although I never saw it), but chose Florida instead (also sight unseen). Is it beautful?
B:) This photo is where I live...not SOUTH Padre Island. This is another island about 200 miles from South Padre. It's just plain Padre Island [or North Padre Island] --Texas has about 600 miles of shore line on the Gulf. Now, SOUTH Padre Island is on the border of Old Mexico. And a lot more conjested with population as compared to "our" island. LOL
Pretty!! Padre Island - it's been a long time since I've been there...24 or so?!? Now, we live by the ocean in Georgia - I love being by the water!! :) SIlke
Cool shot! I embiggened it, and could see the texture in the wooden posts that had been cut off. They likely have a proper name, but I don't know it! And the foam on the water is wonderful!!
It looks like a wonderful morning to be outside to take a walk and also take some beautiful pictures like the one you've taken...thanks for taking us there and i loved that you included a map too!
Beautiful song to go with your beautiful photo, Anni! Back in 1986 and 1989 I was lucky enough to travel to Vancouver, BC where my two older brothers live and got to watch the tide go in and out...oh how I loved it. Having been going through all my pictures this past week, I came across the ones taken on the ocean shore with the tide out. Memories:-) xoxo
I love, love, love the new blog graphics, Annie. I can almost hear the shorebirds, which, considering that I am in the still snow-covered panhandle of Texas, is downright amazing.
One of my all time favorite songs - we were engaged on roller skates while the "couples skate" was going on - lowered lights, Ebb Tide playing. Ah, yes.
Howdy there Texas Lady -- here we are in San Antonio having a great visit with our son, dil and 11-year old grandson. Just a few days to stop as we are on our way to our Ft Myers spot. Wishing we had time to visit NORTH Padre Island (we've stayed in Fulton and Port Aransas several times) and we loved it there so much. It shore is cold here for TX though!
Awesome.
ReplyDeleteCosby takes me back to my college days. He and George Carlin. :)

ReplyDeleteGreat shot and thanks for showing the map too. The Texas coastline has somegreat birdie areas.
ReplyDeleteSimple and electrifying, all at once. The tide rolls in with possibilities and sweeps out, carrying questions with the sand.
ReplyDeleteFor a bit of sheer magic, stop on over for today’s WW.
Great capture of the tide and lovely poem to describe it.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day, Anni!
