Taken back in July of this past summer, this is a photo of me doing a favorite pastime -strolling along the shores. It was a balmy day, the early morning temperature was a promise of the inferno that would hit later in the afternoon. The sea air was filled with humidity and the odor was impregnated with salt and tropical scents. The water was warm, the waves calm, the seagulls sang to me as did the current. It's a time to watch the beauty of it all, and be content at where I am at in life....walking barefoot, leaving for just a fleeting moment, my footprints in the sand!!I long for warmer days ahead.

PS...Also, today is my niece's [my very first born niece] birthday!! Happy Birthday Jo!!! And sadly I have seen only ONE movie [just saw Avatar this past week] this year that is a contender for the Academy Awards. That's something I've never said before. AWARD NOMINATIONS

Oh yes! Makes me happy just to look at that scene. Our son in San Antonio says his weather is just about like ours here in Oregon; everybody everywhere is ready for spring!

I so agree with you! I wish for spring, or even a place with sand and waves!! I try and tell myself that I have a roof over my head, and indoor plumbing, so I should be grateful, but...
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely picture and poetic words!

As for movies, I actually saw one this year -- Julie and Julia, with my daughter. I love movies, hate going to those multi-plex places; I wait till they are on TV!

You were lucky to have the beach to yourself at that time of year. I love walking on the beach alone - just me and the dog! Hope you get your longed-for warmer days before too long.
ReplyDeleteJanice.
Happy Birthday to your niece. Wonderful picture. I too walk along the river by me. It's so soothing. I also saw Avatar recently. It was awesome. I absolutely loved the movie. I'm your latest follower. Hope you get a chance to stop by me.

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your niece Jo! I hope she's having a wonderful day celebrating.
I haven't even seen any of the movies up for an Academy Award and actually it's been years since I've done so. Not like years and years ago when we'd be going to the movies almost every second weekend!!!
Have a great evening, my friend. xoxo
My Dear Sweet Annie...
ReplyDeleteSorry I didn't make it by this morning. Work has been bad the last few days. Brought me to my knees yesterday, so I am stopping by this evening.
I love the picture of you walking the shore. So beautiful. I can smell the sea air, I can hear the sea gulls crying, and I can hear the waves lapping at the shoreline. So beautiful. I would be right there walking too if I lived close by. That would be my everyday pattern for sure.
Warmer days are ahead sweetie. Patience my dear. Happy Birthday to sweet Jo. Hope she had a great birthday with many more to come.
Have a gorgeous evening sweetie. Country hugs and so much love...Sherry
We lived by the Gulf of Mexico for 9 years....so how I do miss the beach! Thank you for your comment on my blog.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite pastimes too, I love strolling on the beach. It looks like we were both reminiscing about summer today.
