Delicate like amethyst flowers dripping with dew
Strong as a ruby rose kissed in amber light.
Like iridescent opals; her hair danced while we strolled
together the emerald forests; from tree to tree.
Had she lived she'd be 98
I'm remembering her sapphire eyes;
they sparkled like diamonds
She was a gem, a jewel to me.

ReplyDeleteAwesome fairies, love them.
ReplyDeleteI love your fairies...I've always wanted to do a fairy garden...I know someday I will, the question is when:).
ReplyDeleteSweet picture and I love the meme in rembrance of your mom...hugs, Linda
Beautiful fairies, Anni. Regarding growing orchids outside. When I lived in New Zealand, which is a lot colder then Queensland, I grew orchids outside. They were in a sheltered spot away from wind and frost, but they did well and used to flower for me. Just be sure to have them in the right growing medium and to use special orchid feed for them. Give it a try...I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised. Good luck and take some photos when they flower...
ReplyDeletewhat beautiful memories you have of your mother. what a poem... and you have a fairy garden? somehow i'm not surprised. have a good weekend anni!
ReplyDeleteAnni,
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you had fairies in your garden. They are all lovely. Of course you know that both Pea and I absolutely love them.
The photo of your mother (and you?) is a treasure. I love all the photos in your sidebar as well.
Have a wonderful, positive day, my friend.
Blessings,
Mary
Mary No....I'm not THAT old. Yet!! Look at the car, it's about a 1935 model...so the baby she's holding is my oldest brother...her first born. I came along in the late 40's so the car model with me as a baby would've been a very different kinda car. And if you look through my 'category' drop down list, I have posted quite a few photos of my fairies. You just forgot about them.
ReplyDeleteYou are a good egg to remember your mother like that.
ReplyDeleteOurs is posted
HERE.
Oh, those are the sweetest garden fairies, Anni! Have a wonderful weekend!

ReplyDeleteYour 55 was a great tribute.
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Anni,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your post, a lovely poem in honor of your Mother's Birthday. The fairies are beautiful. I like them hidden, too. I only have a couple.
I hope all is well with you and that you have a blessed weekend.
Mama Bear
Your fairies look so lovely among the flowers! I gave all my granddaughters fairies. I was surprised by one I have hanging among the grapevine arbor one day. I had forgotten all about her, her chimes all tangled, I her her ting and fixed her all up. Now, my granddaughter go straight to her when they come.
ReplyDeleteYour Mother is so beautiful, you look so much like her.
Moms will ALWAYS be Moms!
ReplyDeleteOh Annie, Sweet Angel. You look like your Moma. Are you the one she is holding in the picture? Just precious. You know they are passed from this world, but the one thing they can't take from us is our heart. We carry those memories every where we go, and you look just like her so I know you carry those memories every time you look into the mirror. How precious is that. I have attached this blog string below. I would like for you to go there and see these fairies. It is the most beautiful blog ever, and it belongs to my beautiful daughter Heidi. Please go check it out. You'll love it, she has so much to share, and she speaks her mind too. I love you honey, Sherry

Hi Anni...
ReplyDeleteJust read the sweet note that you left on my Rose Faerie tablescape...thank you so much for coming by and leaving me such a nice comment!
My friend, I really enjoyed reading your writ about your Mother...it was beautiful!
Love your fairy collection...I think my favorite is the little fairy with the pretty red tipped wings! She really is lovely! It's so funny that we both have posts about fairies today! I have a feeling that we have much in common. I was reading your profile info. My dad and his family was from a little podunk town in Ne. so I spent alot of time there while I was growing up...the town of Fairbury, have you ever heard of it? And then....I too, lived on the gulf coast of Texas for about 30 yrs...in Corpus Christi! Now I am in Colorado! We have spent our lives in many of the same places! Hehe!
Warmest wishes,
Chari
You have made me stop and appreciate my own mother this morning. Thank you.

ReplyDeleteHi Anni...
ReplyDeleteJust read your note. Yes, it really is funny! Small world as they say! So you lived in Corpus as well...wow! I was born in Greeley but my folks moved to Texas when I was 15. We still go over to Greeley a couple of times a month to go and pick up my step children. I am in the northeast corner...near Sterling. We live wayyyy out in the country, my friend! Sure did enjoy your note...we do have so many things in common!
