New kinda Wednesday 4 Me: Wordful Wednesday

My Desk top

On the Left of the monitor

On the Right of the monitor
I thought I'd play along with the WORDFUL Wednesday this week. The past week and more I've been getting the house decorated with Christmas things. This year, I even went so far on the decorating that I took everything off the computer desk except for the monitor and keyboard. Then, I put out some stuff for the holiday! I had Bud lift up the monitor and keyboard and I placed a sage green table runner. To the left of the monitor stands my small lamp that I draped a poinsettia cloth napkin around the lampshade with a Christmas moose that a long time friend of mine, Karma, gave to me as a Secret Santa one year, one large artificial poinsettia that lays on the desktop and a ceramic 'stacked' pile of reindeer. Next to the lamp is one of my two Christmas Santa Fairies. Over on the right side of the monitor is a ceramic frog Santa that is checking his good/bad list, the 2nd of the two Santa fairies and a Santa Nutcracker. I then, to put a greenery touch to the desk, laid out a small string of evergreen garland around the speakers, keyboard and figurines. Ho, ho, ho!!

Here's a 'Groaner':
Once upon a time there was a king in Lapland called Rudolph. He had bright ginger hair so his people called him Rudolph the Red.
Now Rudolph the Red was bad-tempered and argued a lot. He gave his poor wife, Gertrude the Green, a terrible time. No matter what she said he had to argue.
One winter's day Gertrude the Green looked out of the palace window and said, 'Oh dear, it's snowing again. You'll have to clear the footpath before mother comes to tea.'
'Humph!' Rudolph the Red grunted. He didn't fancy shifting snow and he didn't want Gertrude the Green's mother coming to tea.
'That's not snow. It's rain!' he argued.
'But it's white and fluffy and drifting,' Gertrude the Green tried to tell him.
Rudolph the Red hid behind his newspaper and snapped, 'It's rain!'
Gertrude the Green became quite angry. 'Gertrude the Green knows snow, darling!'
'Yes,' retorted her husband. 'And Rudolph the Red knows rain, dear!'
Everyone is unison now....:::g-g-r-r-o-o-a-a-nnnn!:::

Anni,
ReplyDeleteYour desk looks very festive. My favorites are the moose (Canada is famous for moose) the frog Santa and the elf Santa, though everything is delightful. The greenery and the cloth is a nice touch.
Enjoyed my visit and always look forward to seeing your Christmas decor. I'm way behind this year. Too much has been happening. I will either be ready when the big day arrives or not.
Have a great day and enjoy your Christmas decor.
Blessings,
Mary

ReplyDeleteI love that you decorate even your desktop! Growing up, my mom had some kind of Christmas decor in every room at the house. I so loved it!
