Got a good reason For taking the easy way out

About | Theme: "SHOES" | Roll
Next week "YOU --any part of you [myself]"

Dang....I love shoes! I collect shoes!! But, funny thing is: I'd much rather go barefoot! Go figure.

Anyway, I thought I'd take you on a 'walk about' through parts of our home to show you a few 'shoes' hanging around, just sitting idly, waiting for their time in the spotlight! [all images can be enlarged]

These are my 'clod hoppers' is what I call them...they're soft Italian leather and so so comfortable. My pair of choice!! I wear them VERY often, as you can tell.

These are my stone studded 'dress shoes'...I just wore them a few weeks ago when I had to 'dress up' for the Broadway Show "Chicago". [I really don't like to dress up...if it were up to me, I'dda worn jeans and a t-shirt!!]

These are Native American shoes! [actually pink leather with turquoise conchos ---on one of our Kachina Dolls]

Bear fur trimmed moccasins on another Kachina Doll

Now some kids grow up with the knowledge of a perfectly bronze-coated BABY shoe. Living in the foothills of Colorado where we raised our kids, they both had BABY moccasins!! The light deer hide moccasin is Irene's [also the silver sticking out from behind is her silver baby spoon. ] And.....

This darker version of leather baby moccasin is Erik's --also with his baby spoon! THEY BOTH HAVE THE MATCHING moccasin in their homes!

And last but not least...what else but BOOTS? Puss n Boots to be more specific. From Shrek II

  2. My moccasins are the most comfortable shoes I own, but since they don't have a real sole I can't get much use out of them.

    Happy weekend!

  4. I had a pair of mocassins when I was young, and they were the most comfortable shoe ever. I'm not much of a shoe girl- more into flip flops. But now purses, well we won't even go there! lol Have a great weekend!

  8. I relate to your comment about loving shoes but preferring to be barefoot. It sounds like me! You can take a girl out of the hills, but you can't take the hills out of a girl! Love your moccasins. My kids had them too. Fun post, Anni!

Remember those who died for your freedom.

Dear Lord, lest I continue in my complacent ways, help me to remember that someone died for me today. And if there be war, help me to remember to ask and to answer “am I worth dying for?”~

  45. Your opening line could be my own! It’s raining here in So Cal and I’m still barefooted … but I own more shoes than I can count. They’re all of a comfortable variety however … no ‘stone studded dress shoes’ for me any more. Love the ‘Pusss ‘n Boots’ at the end ;--)

Mine are at Small Reflections with a bunch of Saturday memes.
