Next week "time"

I think I have found some 'unique signs' in my hunting trip this past week. One is a 'sign of the times' type sign --

Personally, these roller/shoes look like a lot of fun...but it's probably like a huge concern in stores that are filled with glass and ceramic. Kinda like the idiom "a bull in a china shop".

Then, I saw this one at one of my favorite stores....

...and it turned out to be one favorite for the day. Who can turn down searching the aisles for things that are 90 per cent off the regular price?!! Not me!!!

Thirdly, this one is me! Definitely me - - -

And last but not least; in fact the most 'unique' for the week [at least for my blog entry that is]...in the mystery section of the used book store, these signs hang from the ceiling. I thought it was clever. And they reminded me of a particular game that the kids and I played when they were young. [Oh and Irene cheated at that game, for sure for sure ---I swear she won 8 out of 10 games we played] Can you guess what the game is?

In the book store's mystery section:

Yesterday I posted about Bud and I thinking of going to see "Baby Mama" at the theater? And a few left comments asking for me to let them know how it was. It's a really cute, sweet movie. [except for Sigourney Weaver's part...she's just icky! -imho in ALL movies. LOL] Anyway, there is tasteful comedy, a budding romance [not between the two women]...a cute doorman...lots of things in this flick to make you feel good. Lots of smiles...a bit of hardy laughter [the part where the blond girl being taken to the delivery room says it feels like "I'm pooping knives!" ---Only a gal who delivered kids knows the feeling -lol]. And, a great ending!! [actually if you want my opinion: the last 20-30 minutes are the best!] All in all maybe a B+ movie. But what with the cost of gasoline and ticket prices, I'd say wait to see it on a Blockbuster rental. Cheaper, but still well worth watching.

Miss Scarlett (liked her dress) in the library (liked the books) with the candlestick (seemed the least gory for some reason) -- I only know the game as "Clue" -- not the "Cluedo" others mention here. Oh, looked it up and original 1949 English version was called Cluedo -- Parker Bros. market it in N. America as "Clue." So did I win the prize??????? Or am I the prize LOL?

Those were unique signs... I would have loved being with you at Holly Lobby..the game was either I spy or jump rope? just guessing, here. If I was younger, I would just have to get some of those shoes with the wheel in the heels... Good Post!!

First off, I agree with those skate shoes. They seem to be very dangerous to me.

Secondly, I love the skinny girl sign. :)

Lastly...I LOVE the game Clue!!! I played it ALL OF THE TIME when I was younger. I was quite good at it.
I'd love to play again.

Sooooo... did you find anything of INTEREST for 90% OFF? I would love searching too - but usually the stuff is just plain JUNK! Occasionally a "treasure" though... did YOU find a treasure?

The kids and I used to play CLUE for HOURS on end too! I don't think EITHER of my boys EVER cheated at that one though! (they were the two that WOULD have cheated - IF cheating was going to happen!)

ellen b

Anni, those are all great. I don't have a CLUE why the mystery section has thoe photos up all over. :)

I just thought after I read your post that I should have dug up some of the signs from japan. There are some pretty funny ones in there!

What a fun collection of signs!!! I especially like the one about the 'skinny gal' within that can be soothed by 'cookies' ;--)

I've decided to participate for the first time today with a sign I've shared previously but that cracks me up whenever I see it.

Hugs and blessings,

You have some good signs here Ms. Hoot.

I'm confused with your military and Obama support on your sidebar tho.

Hi Sarge! Well, I don't talk politics, sorry. All I can say is that with all candidates there are questions unanswered for each!!

Irishcoda

What a clever book shoppe ~ I haven't a Clue who dunnit... (loved that game)! The skinny girl sign is hilarious. Good job! Happy hunting and thanX for stopping by.

Katney

left these words of wisdom:

We used to love playing clue. I don't think my kids played it much, butI played it as a kid. It has been around for a VERY long time, you know.

Thanks for the movie review. I may add it to our Netflix queue. DH will wonder why.

sallyacious

left these words of wisdom:

Clue!! I haven't played that in ages. And we had the Old School version of the game when I was growing up. Where the rooms had little floor plans with pieces of furniture drawn in and the game pieces were actually made of lead.

I was so disappointed when the new game came out. It seemed so cheap somehow, when compared to the original version.

starnitesky

left these words of wisdom:

I like the idea of those shoes with wheels, they look like fun, I would love to visit the book shop.

Daisy

left these words of wisdom:

My favorite is the "No Shoes with Wheels" sign!

Flo

left these words of wisdom:

I love the shoes with wheels sign. I'd like to try those shoes but I'm afraid I'm not as graceful as the kids are :) Love the signs for Clue!! I still like playing that game.

Eve

left these words of wisdom:

I used to love to play Clue, too. It was Miss Scarlet in the Conservatory with the Knife. lol

Eve

left these words of wisdom:

Forgot to mention - my grandson has the "Heelies." I asked his parents if they had all at once gone stupid when they bought them. He is only allowed to wear them where appropriate - no school, church, etc where they could become a problem. He's pretty good with them. I know for sure I'd fall down!

Mary

left these words of wisdom:

Ha! It is Clue and I have played it with the boys since they were very young. I also played it with Michelle. Brandon got a Junior Clue game from Santa when he was about 3 years old. We've been playing ever since. When he was about 8, Santa brought him the regualar clue. We have to watch Jordan. He likes to cheat too. He is addicted to winning. LOL

The movie sounds fun. I will wait for it to come out on DVD.

Have a wonderful weekend.
Blessings,
Mary

All great signs. I love the used book store signs. I know the game as Clue. My daughter wants some of those shoes with wheels but I won't let you get any! I'm such a mean mom. lol

Fishman

left these words of wisdom:

Oh I enjoyed those signs... especially the one about the skinny girl.

dawn

left these words of wisdom:

I didn't play clue very often as a child, maybe once or twice so still don't know the rules. My kids have played it much more than I. I love the skinny girl sign. The first one reminded me of a sign that was by our pond when we moved here. The people had been to Australia and I am sure they are more common there, but here it was a weird sign. It had a swimmer crossed out and an alligator below. It fell down and I have it somewhere and would update my post but the family took the camera on vacation.

mjerlandson

left these words of wisdom:

My favorite sing is the one with the no wheels on shoes. That is a constant complaint that I have these days. I can't stand it when I kid flys by on those dumb Heelis. It cracks me up that places have signs. And of course the Clue pieces...such a great classic! Great job!

Maria I.

left these words of wisdom:

Great photos - I like them all! 90% discount - I've never seen that! I wouldn't pass the opportunity either.

Who would have thought there would be so much choice at the mall. Great shots for the theme Anni. Have a good weekend.

Marylin

left these words of wisdom:

Great shots! I hate shopping with all those kids wearing the roller shoes... the amount of time our toddler has been knocked off his feet by some kid who's not paying attention as s/he is zooming around the corner of a flipping shopping isle - ARGH!!!

Monkey Giggles

left these words of wisdom:

Thanks for stopping by. Come back anytime. The game would be Clue.

Have a happy day

(I tried to leave a comment this morning, but got an error. I hope it works this time.)

I never personally played the game Clue, but can still recognize the signs from pop culture. That is great that you could photograph those.

I really like the first sign also. I wish I would see those around here, especially in stores and shopping malls.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend! Thanks for visiting my blog.
