Poor Man's Nichole Richie @ Morning Sniffles wowed me with this award! The Artist Award. She writes in her blog: "...let me bestow the award upon these people who keep on rocking the blogolandia with their talent and passion." Thank you, thank you ever so much. I'm just awed with gratitude. And a bit teary-eyed to know that y'all enjoy my blog like this. The statuette originated here and to be honest this award made me speechless when I saw the work of art itself.
May I pass this on to two that I think is an artist in their own 'write'. One who writes in her 'other blog' - a side of Mary some may not know. The other who is a professional lyricist with whom, over the decade, I have become close to in a long-distance friendship.
The first: Mary
The second: LibertyBelle

Our former first lady now in the running for a Democratic nomination will be here in our city's area this Wednesday. I'm really debating if I should attempt to go see her speak. I have made up my mind who I'm voting for in November already. But I'm thinking this may be a great photo opportunity too!! I bet there will be a huge crowd tho....and I am not one for crowded places unless it's Rod Stewart or the likes. LOL. Having somebody like him showing up in town, I'd not give it a second thought.

ADDED: 8:40AM....Hmmmmmm, now the blogger comments have "Open ID" choice...didya notice? That's cool!

**This is a photo I took Tuesday afternoon during a break in the stormy weather pattern we experienced...it is taken in our back yard...a multi-petaled red hibiscus plant.
ReplyDeleteHello dear Anni,
ReplyDeleteI've decided to try to visit a few of my favourite blogs this evening...I feel like I've been run over by a mac truck but I really think yesterday I reached the peak of this flu so hopefully I'll now start feeling better. As I've just told Karen, I'm so missing all of you!!! Congratulations on the award my friend, such a beautiful statuette and Nichole is right, you do indeed keep on rocking the blogolandia:-) Love the picture of the hibiscus...no fair that you don't have any snow! lol Before I got sick, I had taken pictures of my backyard...will post the pictures, wait until you see it! lol Love ya! xoxo
What a beautiful flower. Our garden is coming into bloom already. Spring is not far off it seems. Happy WW
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely flower, thanks for sharing. Congrats on the beautiful award dear.
ReplyDeleteWow. We have not seen anything other than white snow since last year ! The flower is beautiful, I hope to see some here in the new few months :)
ReplyDeleteThat flower is surely so fabulous. The color is just my favorite.
ReplyDeleteThat hibiscus is gorgeous. It is a favorite flower of mine. Those are some blossoms! God bless.
ReplyDeleteoh thats so gogeous, mine's up

Pretty Hibiscus plant you've planted :) The shade of red is pretty striking! Reminds me of Hawaii!
ReplyDeleteYour hibiscus is lovely. Although I have to admit that I just assumed it was a rose at first glance! I think I'm jealous of your balmy weather.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your award...it's one of the prettiest ones I've seen.
Good Evening Anni,
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of the Hibiscus. It is just so beautiful and breathtaking. "THANK YOU" for sharing it with us. "CONGRATULATION'S" on a very well deserved Award. You are a very good artist and I do love looking at your work. Girlfriend, go see Hillary and have your picture made with her. LOL. Years ago, when my Sister was graduating from a Christian College, Bill was the Govenor of Arkansas at the time, he was the speaker at the graduation. Afterwards, we got to meet him and I had my picture made with him. Yep, I sure did. He even had his arm around me. Hmmmm, I wonder if I could get away with a Scandal with that picture? ROLFMBO. I still have it, and if I can find it, I will try to show it when I get my printer and scanner hooked back up. By no means am I a Monica Lewinsky. LOL. Sorry, I had to throw that in there for fun. Take care my friend and have a great evening/day. May God Bless You and Yours. Oh, I wanted to let you know that I drink Diet Caffeine Free Soda's and the coffee we drink is Foldgers 1/2 the caffeine. I don't know what could have caused it, but I went back to sleep this morning and after I got back up, I was feeling much better.
Love ya bunches and hugs to ya,
Karen H.
Oh, I wish we would be close to Spring. I love flowers. But we're still in for alot of snow storms before the flowers bloom on our side of the mountains. Beautiful picture!!
ReplyDeleteAnni,
ReplyDeleteI am deeply touched that you presented me with the Artist Award. It is beautiful and that you think of me as an artist that is deserving of this award made me tear up. Thank you, Thank you! I absolutely LOVE it and will display it on my sidebar with pride.
I love the photo of the hisbicus. They are such beautiful flowers. When I visited my friend in Arkansas in 2005, the one in her yard had huge blooms on it. I'd never seen them so big and it looks like yours are about the same size. The deep red is wonderful.
Like you, I do not like crowds, so would not be going to see Hillary.
Take care, my dear friend and thanks again for the honor that you paid me.
Blessings,
Mary
I can't wait for flowers to be in bloom again here...I'm so done with the gloomy weather!
ReplyDeleteThe plant is beautiful, Anni, and I love your Valentine header.
ReplyDeleteI love the photo of the flowers.
ReplyDeleteI am soooojealous you have Hibiscus blooming! It is beautiful! Congrats on another well deserved award, your creativity inspires. I was in Tucson today and thought of you! Also I heard Hillary will be in El Paso, I thought tomorrow,.... we will be passing through there and I thought if I had the chance I would go. I think you should go when she is near you..it would be interesting. Have a grand day,Anni!!
ReplyDeleteHibiscus - I am so proud of it as it is my country's national flower. Hehe...
ReplyDeleteValentine's Day is just a day away, so happy Valentine's Day to you, Anni.
Those are beautiful flowers.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on that wonderful award.
Hope you can expect better weather. Take care.
SO BEAUTIFUL! I wish my backyard looked like that! What a gorgeous shot! Happy WW!
ReplyDeleteI love the little birdie sitting on top of the plant !
ReplyDeleteI would love to see and listen to Hilary, I still think she is very good although I like Barak. But she knows already all politicians in the whole world, is very appreciated and has experience too. Obama has to learn all this first. I don't talk about your republicans, one is worse then the other ! So old fashioned !
Very nice, Anni. The reds are just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWrite From Karen
Nice hibiscus plant and flowers there. This is the national flower for Malaysia. :)
ReplyDeleteSerena
Beautiful picture! :)
ReplyDeleteNow wait just a dadgum minute! Where do you have a hibiscus in full bloom? Are you in zone 10 or something? Gorgeous colors on that beauty.
ReplyDeleteHappy WW - I always love your choice of pictures Annie - you rock !
ReplyDeletethanks for visiting me last week.
Mine is up here
Aye, now I see where you are. As for sushi, I think I like the things in which to dip it better than I do the actual rolls! I love wasabi and ginger and soy. So many flavors on my tongue!
ReplyDeleteOh, and we were warm up until yesterday. 70s and all...thought spring was here. Then, last night the cold rains came...
ReplyDeleteNow I had to come back and check on the "bird", lol ! It really looks to me like a bird sitting on top on the left side. Doesn't matter if it is a leaf, then it is a leaf in bird form ! Maybe I need new glasses !
ReplyDeleteSo lovely. Spring fever has sprung!!! :-).
ReplyDeleteHappy WW
It's beautiful and makes me miss Spring even more (if that was even possible!!)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flower, great picture!
ReplyDeleteHi Anni,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photo of the hibiscus. I am so plant illiterate but I'm learning from all the green thumbed ladies on here! :o)
Congrats on that beautiful award! It really is a work of art in itself!
I'm with you on Rod Steward! My daughter took me to see him a few years back for my birthday! I cried through the whole concert. She asked me why I was was crying and I told her I just couldn't believe I was finally there seeing him in person after all these years!!
Hillary...nah..
Hugs,
Hope

ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful flower picture. We have azaleas coming too here and my Easter lilies are also coming up. I have noticed some buds around also (not your BUD though)!! smile.
Sandy
Beautiful pictures of the flowers. It gives me a nice break from all the whiteness surrounding me. Someday this snow will be gone - someday.
ReplyDeleteYour WW picture is gorgeous, but I am completely blown away by the beauty of that award. Can I steal it to give to someone? It is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteOh pretty! My grandmother had some of those when I was growing up.
ReplyDeleteLovely Roses! I love the beauty of nature a lot. Thanks for sharing and happy hearts day!
ReplyDeleteHair Cut or Life Cut?
My Little Funny Boy
I thought that was an hibiscus. I can't believe you have it in January!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty. I just love flowers. I would like to participate this week in Wordless Wednesday. Could you please tell how to do it? Is there an official site like we have for show and tell? I would appreciate your help.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your award. You deserve it!
