§ A Thank You Note and a Sunday Morning....

First off, before I get into typing up my post for the day, I received this cute thank you note from a long-time blogging buddy, Cecilia.  It was a nice surprise.  OH, and if you still want to visit with her and check out her scavenger hunt finds...be forewarned, this note reveals her macro mystery!!

I woke up way too early this morning, and had my online blog visiting done before breakfast. Now, in order to keep from falling asleep in the chair, I thought I'd do another post and get it pre-scheduled to post the next day. I plan on taking another walk this morning. I will try and continue walking/getting some exercise in the fresh air as long as they allow us to do so. Before it's a complete lock-down. Anyway, I took a stroll in parts, driving in other areas, along the park road in Calallen, Texas [this small burb has only one known case of the virus, and he has been quarantined, so I figured this is a pretty safe spot -even tho there is a slim chance of contracting the bug. Being that it's nearly isolated in the early morning hours on any given 'average' day. I kinda have in the back of my mind [even tho there is danger lurking everywhere these days, I would be more likely to get COVID19 in a grocery store with larger crowds]...

Here are a few photos from my walk along the park road. It rained heavily the previous night and everything was damp and the air chilly. As I turned the curve to drive along the river banks, the road was covered with Tree Swallows...a rarity seen except for this time of year. They are pretty swallows...a blue green back with a stark white contrasting belly. There were several juvenile swallows in the mix [they are all-over brown].   The 2nd photo -top right is the smaller of two ponds.  A flock of avocets took off, flying toward the river.  The third photo, middle row, left is a wooden observation deck where it over-looks the larger pond.  The middle right photo is standing water from the heavy rain, looking over the field where the river is in the backdrop.  The bottom left is part of the trail system thru the wooded section and the bottom right is taken from the road as I walked part of it, looking thru the palm [on Palm Sunday] and mountain cherry trees with a partial view of the larger pond.  Here, I could hear the click, click, clicking chirp from a kingfisher, but I couldn't find it...
