I really don't have much to 'talk' about today. This past two weeks it's been one eye exam and fitting for new lenses and choosing frames. I opted for silver frames. Plus ordered a 2nd pair with tinted lens for sunglasses which takes two weeks [they did come in early tho] for the tinted ones. I got the regular non-glare glasses the same day after about two hours' waiting period. Then, the following week Bud had his exam. I went with him 'cause he is technically challenged so I had to help him with filling out and updating the questionaire before the eye exam. He then opted for the nearly identical frame he's been wearing for decades and also ordered tinted lenses for a 2nd pair. His aren't in yet...it's another day or two for his regular glasses to be processed and then a fitting. And, then...another week or two and a return trip to pick up HIS sunglasses.
We are staying close to home for the next two weeks because of Spring Break and I think there is a marathon going on during this time.Traffic conjestion is not my cup of tea. We are keeping busy with yard work. Almost caught up. Oh ya, I haven't found any hidden ambition to continue painting the interior either. I must get crackin'!!!!!
PS...thanks for the comments on my nostalgic look back from the previous post. I enjoyed your company.
The glasses are very nice! Yes, changing glasses is a deal and takes quite a while!
ReplyDeleteA lot going on. Your glasses look very nice. I like the silver frame. I think you are wise staying home for a while. All that extra traffic of people and cars would keep me home.
ReplyDeleteYa, the traffic will drive me 'insane'.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteYour new glasses look great! I am sure the spring breakers are not always fun. They can get a little wild. Have a great weekend.
Wild and oftentimes dangerous.
DeleteGetting eye glasses can be such a challenge. Don’t envy you the spring break crowd. Not many come to the banks of the Ohio. Have a wonderful weekend!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is Cathy. Don’t know why I “anonymous.”
DeleteToo cold? Thanks for leaving an ID Cathy.
DeleteAnni, first off, I love your hair and haircut! I was a hairstylist for almost 20 years and my specialties were cutting any kind of curly/wavy hair, and also cutting any kind of short hair style. I also was partial to gray, salt/pepper hair. I couldn't wait to go gray. For me, it started when I was 27.
ReplyDeleteYour new glasses are fabulous! And they go really well with your hair.
I wear reading glasses myself and try to find them in either a black frame or dark blue.
And speaking of Spring Break, I understand your feelings. When I lived in South Florida, I stayed clear of all the touristy areas because the traffic was horrendous.
Have a grrrreat Saturday, my friend!
I bet the dark blue frames are a good color for you!
Deletechoosing new glasses is a chore for me. you did a good choice, i like the rickrack looks of the details on bridge over nose and in the corners and silver is always my choice for anything. i have 4 silver rings and love silver. mine are rimless but silver trim.
ReplyDeletespring break is so bad here, even close to home we can't get out of our driveway.
we have the last of the snowbirds hanging on until they go home and spring break for local schools and colleges.
I tried rimless and they didn't 'fit' my features.
Deleteabout the time change, i want it to stay like it is, but will be ok if they freeze in on DLST. just stop the changing. we like our light in the am, but can live with the other if it become static
ReplyDeleteI'd prefer 'regular time zones' also but will settle with not changing clocks, period!
DeleteMOL MOL Anni I hear you on the fillin' out of forms. Everyone of our medical and dental facilities and eye docs. Have on line reg/forms to be done ahead of time or in the waiting room. Someone here doesn't like to fill them out on line or in the office.
ReplyDeleteWe both had eye and dental in Jan and Feb. Now we need to make an appt for our 10 year tetanus boosters. Both due in 2022 but we were getting so many other pokes in the arms.
Hugs Cecilia
It can quickly become time consuming. Or so it seems.
DeleteI like your new eyeglasses. Me too. I have 4 pairs - closeup, medium, distance, sun. All RX because others cause vertigo. What choices I had to make for both frames and lenses! (no insurance either.) It's a big deal for me. Your picture wearing the new ones is very nice.
ReplyDeleteWe pay out of pocket too. It's easier.
DeleteI really like your choice in eyewear! Pretty!
ReplyDeleteI've got a bone scan coming up end of the month...it's always something!
hugs
Donna
Hope all goes well for you!
DeleteYour new glasses look great on you, Anni! I'm not fond of choosing new frames without someone with me to give me an honest opinion.
ReplyDeleteNice new glasses! Both of us here had to get new glasses after Christmas. I need to find a nice chain like yours for my glasses . The one I have is not reliable and my glasses can slip off. GM
ReplyDeleteGot a couple from dollar tree...do you have that store!?!!
DeleteYour glasses look good! I have to go with Bob this week to help him pick out frames.
ReplyDeleteBud and I never agree on frame styles for him. lol
DeleteI need new glasses badly. Have to work it out with the insurance. Yours look great on you. If our rain would let up we would gladly get back to doing yard work.
ReplyDeleteSue
Send some rain our way...purdy please.
DeleteThe glasses look good on you.
ReplyDeleteI always dislike finding glasses that I like on me. I will go through one pair after the other and back again. Crazy, I dislike shopping for them, shoes and bras....lol
ReplyDeleteShhhh, just between you and me...NO bras.
DeleteYour new glasses are very nice.
ReplyDeleteI wear reading glasses and the cheap ones work fine for me. I have many pairs scattered all around. :)
Mine are for driving (distance)
DeleteJust got a new eyeglass prescription, too. They will be here next week, and I hope they look half as good as yours! :-)
ReplyDeleteUpdates when you get 'em!
DeleteI can only imagine the disdain for the spring breakers where it just seems to go non-stop and add agony to the day, even if just to go to the grocery store, so you're relegated to going at 7:00 in the morning. I bet even the grocery prices sky-rocket. Is there ever an adjustment period that you go through with new glasses? I think I would be like Bud when it comes to glass frames. But with my luck, they would NEVER have the same style frames available for decades. :-)
ReplyDeleteHis style is always "aviator"
DeleteBeing in a small North Idaho town. I can't see any college student coming here.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
Lucky!
DeleteStaying home for a couple of weeks sounds like a wonderful plan. I love your new glasses. How wonderful a pair of tinted glasses would be.
ReplyDeleteThe tinted ...for me...are necessary.
DeleteI like your glasses and would avoid those crowds too. What a nuisance.
ReplyDeleteCheerful Monk
DeleteIt is a nuisance...
DeleteThanks for the ID Jean
DeleteSpring break time has got to be tough for people living in popular areas! Your glasses look great!
ReplyDeleteI see it as problematic...but the city sees $$$$!
DeleteYour glasses look good.
ReplyDeleteI had some new ones just before Christmas and have been pleased with them.
All the best Jan
🙂
DeleteI too like your new glasses. And just recently had to have my old lens put into new 'old' frames. I broke the arm of my old glasses and it couldn't be fixed (think they fell off in the bed while night reading and I probably rolled over on them). But instead of having to buy a whole new set, I was able to have my old lens cut down and put into another old frame that I had at home. So, my choices were to order new glasses or buy a new frame and have my lens cut to fit, or just use an old frame and have the lens cut to fit. I chose the last as it was only $45 rather than a few hundred... (don't know whether to call these silver or pewter).
ReplyDeleteMUCH cheaper!!!
DeleteI'm hoping to get new glasses this month - but it may well be April before I do. Glasses are not all equal - as you well know. I am still trying to figure out the best choices for me. AND they are SO expensive!!!
ReplyDeleteExpensive, but needed!
DeleteOh yes, glasses. ;-) My husband helped me pick out new frames. I decided to go with transition lenses. I almost think they get too dark in the sunlight, so I have mixed feelings about them.
ReplyDeleteI do like my frames and I am so happy my husband helped me pick out my frames.
Carla from the River
I had the same reaction with transition lenses
