Most of the art work is my sketches, framed. A few are purchased [the long horns for one, perched behind a set of real horns on the fireplace hearth -during Christmas this picture is stashed away to make room for holiday garb]. Some hanging on the wall are DIY by Bud!
Each year, for Easter, the City of Corpus Christi has a Sunrise service at a park downtown. One time, I read about it, and saved the clipping, only to use it as a model for a painting done in acrylics. I had intentions of shipping this to our daughter, but never did. So it graces our walls. [1-clipping, 2-painting]

Another, is a wood carving done by Bud. Our son asked him to carve a wooden crucifix [styled by Guns n Roses album cover]. He finished, boxed it up and sent it to him. But, not before I begged for a duplicate!! He carved a 2nd one for me.
Here is mine that he gifted me more than two decades ago. It is one of my most cherished posessions...

Lastly today, another project Bud made with an old west theme. A wreath. He made this out of barbed wire!

My next post will be the end of the 'art work' display case. Two walls covered with my framed sketches [and one acrylic painting].
You are both very talented. Love that wreath. Do you need gloves to hang it?
ReplyDeleteNo ... just handle with caution.
DeleteI love all of the art but that crucifix is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks M&M
DeleteYour life is filled with wonderful arts. You lead a fulfilling life.

DeleteAnni, the crucifix you carved looks identical to the Guns n Roses album cover. Well done! It's BEAUTIFUL! I love the color.
ReplyDeleteAnd Bud's wreath is AWESOME as well!
Both of you are so very creative and talented.
*thunderous applause*
Have a terrific Tuesday, my friend!
Ron, your praise is always noted...thanks
DeleteBeautiful paintings and art work. Take care, have a wonderful day and week ahead!

Deletefor some reason I never realized you have two artists living in one house. NOT FAIR! the cross is beautiful. I like your painting more than the sketch.. LOVE those long horns! we used to go on a sunday drive just for me to see the ranch of longhorns that lived out East. they were so beautiful. they were there most of my life and now I wonder where they went when they sold their ranch for 10 million dollars and paved paradise with a shopping center. your art is amazing
ReplyDeleteThanks...I too love longhorns!
DeleteWOW the cross is gorgeous Erik had a good eye for just the right picture to give his Dad for this beautiful piece of art. Good thinking to put your name in the pot for one too.
ReplyDeleteOUCH on the beautiful barbed wire wreath. Make Bud some rice pudding
Hugs Cecilia
Hopefully your daughter doesn't read this post and then feel jilted out of not receiving that painting, because that painting is absolutely beautiful! And what a beautiful cross and creative wreath that Bud created. There is something to be said about the "wall hangings" in the house being handcrafted by the owners and not something "store bought."
ReplyDeleteI'm sure she'll get it after I'm gone. Thanks Steve
DeleteAwesome - AWESOME! Your Bud with his artistic talents needs to be exposed more often. How wonderful to have such forever treasures of art with personal attachments and values.
ReplyDeleteHe didn't do many pieces, and now arthritis keeps him from doing more
DeleteWowzers, these are glorious...Your acrylic of the crucifixion is a masterpiece and Bud's cross is so beautiful. Well, all of your art is wonderful. I love that it is personal and hand created. Thank you for sharing these with us.
ReplyDeleteSue
Thanks Sue
DeleteWow! You are both so very talented! I love your painting and Bud's crucifix is really amazing. And who would think to make a wreath from barbed wire? It's perfect!
ReplyDeleteGolly, Mari, thanks
DeleteI so enjoyed seeing the two of you making such fantastic art! Thank you so much for sharing it all. :-)
ReplyDeleteThank YOU D J
DeleteI like your painting. Bud's crucifix is amazing. I love the idea of a barbed wire wreath. We will be building a new garden gate door this season, I think I have an idea for what to put on it. :-)
ReplyDeleteShow us the finished results please!!
DeleteI love that wreath. Reminds me of when Kaitlin, Andy, and I built barbed wire fences.
ReplyDeleteCheerful Monk
DeleteBud used to work with barbed wire fencing also
DeleteThanks Jean
DeleteI like your painting much better than the clipping! And the crucifix is stunning! So, Bud is very talented as well. The wreath is gorgeous, I could never make one like this. How on earth was he able to even work with barbed wire?
ReplyDeleteVery carefully...lol
DeleteThe both of you are very talented. Love the Easter painting and the crucifix. Beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen.
DeleteI don't know anything about Guns and Roses album cover but I think the crucifix that Bud carved is wonderful. GM
ReplyDeleteSo do I...thanks
DeleteWhat beautiful art works you have! Your painting is awesome and so is Bud's cross and wreath...I love seeing your art!
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda
DeleteGreat artwork, Anni. I love that there's a story behind every piece.
ReplyDelete🙂
DeleteWell, who'd'a thunk it? An amazingly talented artist being married to an artistic man. 🤔 Seriously...I LOVE your painting and, like others have said, think it way more aesthetically pleasing than the clipping rendition. WOW! And that crucifix is beautiful as well. He certainly would be able to market them if he chose to make more.... I need some hints from Bud for handling the barbed wire...I made a large one for my back fence but it only barely holds its shape and is not nice and tight like his. ~Robin~ (TheCrankyCrow)
ReplyDeleteGnR probably has a copyright on the crucifix, but I let Bud know your thoughts. Thanks for the outpouring of compliments
DeleteThese are outstanding! You are both very artistic and talented. The Crucifix is beautifully made. The barbed wire wreathe is creatively done. I have always loved your art and photography, and happy you share them with us.
ReplyDeleteI am happy to know you enjoy it Denise
