Last Saturday I took myself out birding. I had a late start so also took myself out to lunch!! lol
Anyway, driving home on the interstate all kinds of warning lights came on the dash...with engine light flashing along side. I did NOT stop or pull over. I was miles from home and just didn't want to deal with calling and waiting for a tow truck!!! The engine light finally did stop blinking about half way home, and I kept pushing the pedal to the medal...fingers crossed to make it home and safe. Well, my mechanic is not open on Saturdays so I waited 'til Monday to call and set up a time. It's Wednesday and I still don't have my car. David told me over the phone what the analysis for the computer sensors told him and it's in dire need of a tune-up. Thing is parts!!! How long a wait for parts...you know just how the American companies are with stocking things. Time will tell.
I started working on the bathroom. When it rains it pours!! I ran into a glitch [not gonna explain, too many words needed]. But, all in all, the job of work will be a week or more to fix if that soon. Woe is me.
While at the park, I had a great experience, so the day wasn't ALL bad. While I was on the hawk platform I was eyeing the trees and searching the horizon. When what to my wandering eyes should appear? But a minature INCA DOVE at my arm, on the railing. I quickly switched the camera mode to video and took a short film of the cuteness.
The white to the left edge of the video is MY SLEEVE. Have the volume up, the dove talks to us before flying off]!!!!
So cute as a dove!
ReplyDeleteWell how cool is that. That cute little dove sure got close.
ReplyDeleteHope the car gets fixed soon.
i love doves, they are so sweet and the sounds they make are so soothing. he let you get so close. the video is amazing... sorry for the car troubles and the whatever long story of household stuff
ReplyDeleteI can't believe he got so close to you! I've never heard of an Inca Dove before, but then again, I only know the bird basics :) Hope your car gets fixed soon! That was smart, driving home like you did. I usually panic with car situations, so I would have probably pulled over and cried :)
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the Inca Dove sighting. I hope your car is fixed soon, I am glad you made it home safely. Take care, enjoy your day!
Anni you're so right, when it rains it pours. I've had periods in my life when that's happened to me too. UGH!
ReplyDeleteFantastic video capture of the Inca Dove! Such a beautiful bird. And the sound it makes is so relaxing and peaceful.
Have an awesome rest of your week, my friend.
Wow, that is a beautiful little guy! I'm so glad that she/he was there to make your day. And mine, too. :-)
ReplyDeleteI hate car troubles and I'm so happy that you made it safely home. What a sweet little dove and so friendly!
ReplyDeleteInteresting about the car troubles. I had a very similar thing happen yesterday but luckily for me--a much happier ending. Hope you get fixed soon.
ReplyDeleteSo cool how that little dove got so close and let you film him.
Oh dear me I'm sorry about the car...and very thankful you made it home.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen or heard of an Inca Dove. The feathers are beautiful and what an interesting series of 'words'.
Hugs Cecilia
Sorry to hear about your fiasco with the car. Thankfully, you made it home. I just had my car go through a tune-up a few weeks ago. What a great capture so close to you! As if he wanted to be friends. I love how he plumage raised and lowered on its back.
ReplyDeleteThe only Doves I am aware of are mourning doves. This one is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your car troubles. Trying to get parts is crazy now..hope you get yours asap!
Sorry about the bathroom problems too. It never rains but it pours.
Love your banner and background. I keep forgetting to tell you that.
Sue
It is like a gift. Awww, he's chirping. And not afraid of you at all!! What do you reckon about his tameness?
ReplyDeleteAfter the trouble with your car and then the bathroom, the experience with the cute little Dove must have been a high point in your day. I like how he/she coos while sitting so close to you. Wow.
ReplyDeleteYou were full of moxie to continue driving with all the alarms! Glad you made it home safely and hope all will be repaired/replaced soon. In the meantime you will keep on with the work of repair and paint, yes? I love the feather layout and sounds of this beautiful little dove. I'll bet it made your heart flutter!
ReplyDeleteAwww what a sweet video that is, I'm still smiling :)
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Wow that a great video.
ReplyDeleteOh bad luck with the car and bathroom. Hope you get those parts and your car back soon.
Such a pretty little bird, and not afraid of you!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the car and the bathroom. Car repair is taking a long time here too because of parts.
How special about the dove! I'm so sorry about the car trouble and the new normal about the lack of parts.
ReplyDeleteLast one from Cheerful Monk.
ReplyDeleteBummer about your car but at least it's not more serious than a tune up! How cute is that dove? I loved the video!
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteKeep us updated on the parts situation. I will not get started on what is happening to our once great country. ;-(
My son is going to graduate from Technical College with a degree in Automotive Technician. We are so thankful to have a mechanic in the family!!
I enjoyed the video, thank you!
Carla
I hope the tune up doesn't cost an arm and leg.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
So glad you got home okay and I hope you get your car back real soon. It is a sickening feeling wondering whether you can get home. Ah, the glitches we come across when projects are being done. I hope yours sorts itself out without too much hassle. What a wonderful visitor you had, so close too. I have never seen an Inca Dove before and they make such a sweet sound. Enjoyed your video. Thanks Anni and have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteI thought that was part of you in the video! Then I thought no, it can't be! I hope you have your car back by now.
