...well, one room and then the hallway. All the pictures have been cleaned and rearranged. That was a job of work that entailed many hours on the floor laying out the 'design' and then changing here and there before being hung on the walls.
The hallway is more or less everything 'family'. From the diningroom as you walk toward the hallway the 'centerpieces' are of my maternal grandmother, my mother, and me...we are all the same age!

Another section of hall is some momentoes of the past...
My mother's well-worn, well used, Bible. Her rings [high school granduation, original wedding set, mother's ring, and new wedding band], a linen hankerchief of hers. Bud's Grandmother, Bud's Grandparents had a grocery store in Co. Springs...this framed calendar is their gift to patrons in the year 1948. Bud's Gr. Grandfather's pipe. And no matter what home we lived in from Nebraska to Colorad [there were many], at her bedside, my mom had the plaque "The Lord is My Shepherd" going to sleep and waking in the morning! Now I have it.

The photo above is of my own offspring [and a sketch I did years ago of Clint, my grandson brushing his hair in front of a mirror-his other grandmother has the original photo].

Next up, yet to be composed, if you're interested, I will post the finished diningroom. Once it was done, and house cleaned up some, I vowed to take a week off. OFF THE LADDER!!! So, I hopefully will be able to get outdoors, birding and maybe some yard work. I also vowed to NOT put up and decorate a Christmas Tree this year...first time ever in my life with no tree. But, I will put out a few festive things to remind us of the holiday. *smile
You have so many wonderful memories hung up on the wall. Almost like a little museum. And I agree you have to take a week for yourself after all this hard work.

Thanks!
DeleteYou have so many beautiful memory treasures! Your blog looks wonderful decorated for the holiday season, Anni!
ReplyDeleteThanks M & M
DeleteAnni, well done on your wall hangings. I especially love the first picture grouping of your grandmother, mother and you all the same age. Isn't it something how whenever you look at photos from the distant past, people back then looked so much older (mature)? I have a box of old photographs of my family (both my mother's and father's side) and when see how my relatives looked at 30 and 40-years old, they had a much more "mature" and "serious" look.
ReplyDeleteLove the family mementos!
Thanks for sharing, my friend. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving Day!
I agree...people aged faster "back then". In mind & body. Thank you dear Ron.
DeleteWhat a wonderful wall of memories you have.
ReplyDeleteI like the festive new blog look
Thanks Ann
DeleteIt's wonderful to see your artistic side once again. I love the idea of seeing those three beautiful women being at the same age! Your "place" on the web is delightful to visit.
ReplyDeleteGosh, my dear D J, thank you.
DeleteAnni what a monumental achievement and worth every second of time and devotion it took
ReplyDeleteJust lovely. Hopefully you can get out and about in the fresh air for a well deserved break
Hugs cecilia
I did get away...and hope to get out at least one more before getting back to the ladder.
DeletePS just enlarged I love the sketch of Clint and family treasures
ReplyDeleteHappy to know Ms. C
DeleteI love all your picture arrangements! I'm very impressed with your display of the rings! What a great idea!!
ReplyDeleteShe was proud of her rings. 🙂
DeleteI love your "order" of arrangement or a sense of order to your photographs where everything just fits together nicely. And it's nice to see that it showcases the family and not just seasonal "decorations".
ReplyDeleteMuch appreciated Steve, thanks.
DeleteYou deserve a good rest!!! Or birding, which is rest, to you. :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely memories, hung on your walls.
What accomplishment!!!! you must be so proud of yourself.
🎄 🎄 🎄 🎄 🎄
I'll just be happy when it's done. lol
DeleteThese are so awesome, especially the three of you the same age. This kind of family mementos and heirlooms are usually wrapped up carefully and stored away. So it is wonderful that you are actually using them as displays and decorations!! You are so artistic in so many areas of your life!
ReplyDeleteGolly Ginny...thanks for the accolades
DeleteWow, I love your memory walls. What a job but to see those treasures every day is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYou have prompted me to dig back into some of our old photos and take photos of them to at least put in a book for a future generation.
Sue
P.S. beautiful home that I want to see more of...then get off that ladder and enjoy some outdoor time.
Went to port A the other day...too foggy to see much, but it was time away from the house. Oh yes a book of family photos sounds ideal.
DeleteI love your new header with the two deer. Did you paint it?
ReplyDeleteSo many wonderful memories hanging on your walls. You've created a little historical museum.
🙂 thank you.
DeleteYou have been busy! It looks really nice. The things you have displayed are really treasures. Those things have such sentimental value!
ReplyDeleteThey do mean a lot.
DeleteYou certainly deserve a week off. What you've done so far is looking great, especially the arrangement of pictures. I hope you have a good week.
ReplyDeleteThanks GM
DeleteI love family Bibles and have my mothers and grandmothers. Unfortunately they didn't write in them.
ReplyDeleteBud has his grandparents' family Bible with a few notations.
DeleteYour all-about-family walls are beautifully done. Of course it comes with a price but you are going to love these new walls. Hilltop Post
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary.
DeleteI love those pictures, and that you are almost done and can have some fun. ❤️
ReplyDeleteNot even close to "done". I still have 8 rooms to go.
DeleteWhat a beautiful collection of portraits on your family. Very special
ReplyDeleteThanks!

DeleteI like your wall of memories. I am trying to doing something like this in our hallway going up the stairs.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Loved your comment on Babbling Brook .. about Christmas Movies.. they are too mushy for me too. Ha!
Give me Scrooge any day!!! :-)
Yes indeed! Scrooge! And I do hope you share your stairway family wall soon.
DeleteYes, I can still see her darning socks!!
ReplyDeleteNope, no tree. Not all that ambitious when I know there is so much other work
