On our dining room hutch, I placed these. The theme seemed to be black and white, so I opted to go shopping for something else I didn't have...black and white pumpkins. I placed them along with all the 'new purchases' that pertained to...you guessed it...witches! A new pitcher, a new witch doll [shown to the right], and a battery operated 'flickering' candle holder! Then, a string of orange lights.

The market these days is saturated with gnomes! As much as I like 'em, I'm tired of them. Other than a different outfit they are all the same. And I do believe the popularity has been drained somewhat...here, in our stores, they are not selling. Most remain on the shelves for weeks. Personally, I can understand why. They're just only cute - no rhyme or reason...I did buy one tho. Only 'cause it was kinda unique; a flying witch gnome with a broomstick. But, I told Bud, "this is probably the last one I buy unless another very different one comes along". They're all so redundant -they quickly became blah to me.

For witches this year, I found a 'designer' witch doll. By Christian Siriano...
- "In January 2014, Disney announced that Siriano would be designing costumes for fairy characters in the Disney animated film The Pirate Fairy." Source

The two shown above were purchased 'cause, 1] Red Hair! 2] Elegant looking ceramic!
Your hutch looks fantastic and I like all your new purchases for the year.
ReplyDeleteI hear you on the gnomes. It's the same with crafting, there are gnomes all over the place. Seen one you've pretty much seen them all.
"Seen one you've pretty much seen them all.". Exactly!!!!
DeleteMore wonderful decorations for the special day
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteYour home looks so festive for the season!
ReplyDeleteI try!!
DeleteAnni, I LOOOOOOVE your new additions this year; particularly the witch doll! I know of Christian Siriano, from Project Runway. And I can't over the detail in the ceramic one with the red hair (on the left). Her hands look so real. And I love the black nail polish!
ReplyDeleteThe flickering candle hold is very cool! I like the silhouette of the flying witch!
Well done, my friend. Enjoyed these very much!
Thanks Ron. That is the first redhead witch I've seen.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteYour mantle looks very festive. I like the witches and pumpkins. Take care, have a great weekend!
I never thought I'd be liking white pumpkins. Thanks.
DeleteI love your new witch very much. And I agree that gnomes have been overdone, but that one you bought is a keeper! :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's different!
DeleteEverything looks so great as it always does. Love the new witch but I really loved that pitcher.
ReplyDeleteI did too...Hocus pocus?
DeleteYour witch has a sweet expression. What a nice display of recent purchases and they are perfect! You bought a red hair beauty and ceramic witch as well... Good for you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ms. G
DeleteWhat a beautiful, enchanting display on your hutch with the decorations and lights! I bet it's a sight to view your house in the evening hours to get anyone in the mood for the holiday. The candle and pitcher are standout additions.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun at night!
DeleteI agree about the last two lovely ladies. WOW Works of art and as always I love you creative eye. The urn you asked about, is on the grounds at Cedar Creek Gallery where we buy our glass pumpkins. Oh would it look gorgeous here but it is very heavy in weight and $$$$$$
ReplyDeleteHugs to you all
Cecilia
I would like that urn in my yard tho!!
DeleteLove your 'witchy corner'.. I have never been attracted to the gnomes. They made a splash back in the 70s and I had a couple back then. They just don't appeal to me for some reason. I do have a whole crafting book of them from the 70s and see the same things today.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful October weekend. Diana
I used to enjoy crafting...now it's just more easy to buy already-made
DeleteFirst new Old Witch doll... How simply lovely! Now THAT is how I like my old lady witches to look!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDone with gnomes for the time being... We change. Why not our choices? -smile-
Oh that top doll!!!!
Gentle hugs,

Not bad for a 300 yr. old, right? *giggles
DeleteI think my favorite of everything is the beautiful pitcher! I picture you pouring blood from it. Have you seen the new series "Reginald The Vampire"? It is good. SyFi network I believe. I like Siriano! We were watching many years ago when he won Project Runway.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have cable for about 10 years now. And neither of us are impressed much with vampires & zombies.
DeleteYes, you see gnomes everywhere now! I love your decorations and your newest witches!
ReplyDeleteI see way too many!!
DeleteHi Anni! I'm not a big Halloween fan. But I did finally put some Fall decorations on my door (mostly pumpkins and wheat, etc.). Your decor always looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks!!
DeleteI think your mantel looks very festive.
ReplyDeleteHalloween here we come :)
All the best Jan
Thank you Jan.
DeleteWhen they were all put together and lit in the dark, they really feel the part
ReplyDeleteYou should have halloween tours of your house. :)
ReplyDelete🙂🎃🙂
DeleteI'm with you on the gnomes. I thought they were cute at first, but now they are so overdone!
ReplyDeleteI love your new purchases but also the October/Halloween theme of your blog now.
ReplyDeleteThanks ??
DeleteAlways enjoying visiting and I love the Halloween theme. You have a great collection!
ReplyDeleteThanks Denise!
DeleteWow, so unique. I like the redhead... You are an awesome decorator and the hutch looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSue
Thanks Sue
DeleteWicked wonderful witchy additions Anni! You find such unique and expressive representations of that genre of lovely ladies. Love the combination of black and white with orange lights. Of course, the quintessential color combo of Spooking Season. I especially love the pitcher! I've never seen anything quite like that! ~Robin~ (TheCrankyCrow)
ReplyDeleteA lot of my blog visitors want to see close-ups. Am working on it.
DeleteI've noticed all the black and white pumpkins, too. I think my MOST popular blog post ever is the one from 8 years or so ago when I did a pumpkin craft with the quads and they were just about 18 months old. I spray painted small pumpkins a shiny black and when they were dry the babies stuck white round stickers all over them. The kind you buy on sheets and can use to price things in garage sales. Then I tied bows on each pumpkin stem using black and white polka dotted ribbon. SO cute!!! I may do this again using faux pumpkins this time!
ReplyDeleteI'd really enjoy seeing those. Link?

You and I think alike... kindred spirits (politically)
DeleteNice Halloween decorations. I don't tend to decorate for this holiday, but I know lots of folks really get into it.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun for those young at heart.
DeleteI really like your lights on your hutch.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
