It took me some time to go thru my files and find photos for Sue's challenge. We were asked to show some images of rust. In my opinion there is no way to beat hers, but I still took the challenge and searched for some, even if small amounts. Here's my paltry 'rusty' images:
Naturally, when there is mention of 'rust' then, first thought is something old, corroded, and metal of some kind [could be bone/joints, but only when we have a hip replacement or 'new knee surgery', so a photo of me wouldn't work out]...

This is a chain-link fence. My dilemma would be, why is it rusting? Shouldn't this product be galvanized steel? And, isn't something that is galvanized supposed to 'resist' rusting? Maybe the salt air we have here from the Gulf? Dunno.
I'm thinking that this wheel hidden in the dried, dead, brush, is maybe a water valve of some kind? Your guess is as good as mine. If you actually know what it is, I'd be more than happy you share with me. All I know is, it's rusty!
Of course you wouldn't think I'd forget the fact I see rust a LOT along the ship channel! Even the anchors on these cargo ships are covered with rust!!
But wait, there's one more... then, in art, painting, etc. 'rust' could be a color and not necessarily metal. Like a rust colored leaf? Okay...I found a rust color!! And a leaf to boot. That is good marks for me, tada!!! According to the RUST | definition in the Cambridge English Dictionary› dictionary › English › rust -having a reddish-brown color...

That looks like a really old fence... probably wasn't galvanized. What an interesting subject matter for photos. ~Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteI haven't a clue as to it's age.
Delete"None can destroy iron, but its own rust can!" - Ratan Tata
ReplyDeleteI like the rust color, but not the rust!
Maybe because I'm starting to feel "rusty"! 🤣
I like that Tata quote.
DeleteYou did a great job with the challenge. Is the wheel in the brush connected to anything or just stuck in there?
ReplyDeleteIf I remember, there was a very large metal container on the backside...all attached.
DeleteI also thought of positng a photo of myself in the rust category, and it seems to be escalating recently... beautiful rust colored leaf.. of the others i like the ship rust best of all...
ReplyDeleteYou and I think alike very often.
DeleteLooks pretty rusty to me. Ya just want to clean them up!!
ReplyDeleteCan you even "clean" rust without a paint job?
DeleteHello, Anni,
ReplyDeleteYou did great finding photos for the rust theme. I like the bird on the fence and the ship. The leaf is a good one too. Have a happy weekend!
I loved seeing that beautiful leaf
DeleteYou did indeed find some rusty stuff to post. I really like that huge rusty ship picture. And that leaf! :-)
ReplyDeleteThe leaf is my favorite too
DeleteI like rust color! It is very visible on all of the farm equipment here, including cow stanchions and horseshoes. Our vehicles get rusty from the salt on the roads and it eats the metal badly.
ReplyDeleteToo many typos in the first comment reply...reposting: That's what we put up with in snowy Colorado every winter...salted roadways. Now-a-days the newer cars are shielded in the under-carriage & body's are not steel.
DeleteI like the leaf best!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are all great Anni, perfect for the challenge! It is interesting that the fence is rusting. At first glance I thought the second one was an old steering wheel. The ship and the leaves are great too! I can't even pick a favorite, they are all excellent :)
ReplyDelete☺
DeleteNice variety of rust. Kind of makes one wonder though if you turned that wheel--------???
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding me? I wouldn't think of putting my hand into the unknown!
DeleteYou nailed rust, Anni!
ReplyDelete...with a few rusty nails I might add.😉
DeleteThe good thing about a rust theme is it's not hard to find! I too am curious as to what that wheel is! It's interesting though.
ReplyDelete...wish I knew!
DeleteA+++ and 3 Gold Stars!!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome take on Rust. That's why the subject is wide open...
Thanks Anni for going along and posting your terrific photos of "RUST".
Sue
Yay! Thanks for the challenge zsue. Let's do it again sometime.
DeleteThis leaf DOES look rusted! The wheel in the tree is so well blended in that it looks like part of the tree! As to the chain link fence...the first thing that came to mind is that the company cut corners and used cheap metal.
ReplyDeleteCould be...these days, highly possible.
DeleteYou did great with the challenge!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen.
DeleteGreat images of rust, my favorite being the leaf!
ReplyDeleteThanks...for me too
DeleteYou nailed it with that leaf.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty, isn't it?
DeleteI too like the leaf best, but you sure have a collection.
ReplyDeleteRust is a simple category, I guess.
DeleteYou've certainly chosen well for the theme, I particularly like the ship and the leaf.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
The leaf is my favorite.
