After more than five decades living in the foothills of Colorado, land-locked, I dreamed of a day I could retire and live on the beach. Well, I'm not exactly situated ON the beach, but I am just minutes from its beauty [and sometimes, wrath]. I enjoy every minute I spend time there. It can be calming to all my senses, sparkly, moody, salty, filled with life, or when I'm all alone with nothing between me and the sea, I'm at the height of tranquility. We have seasons too, but those up north wouldn't agree. We've had December and January snowfall, Spring storms, Summer hurricanes, extreme heat of the south [near tropical], but the sea breeze year 'round makes me content with the world. I can be on the beach and literally forget what's happening around the world, or stresses of a broken appliance or lawn needing a good mowing, laundry, cooking dinner, etc. and be one with nature. See if you don't agree...

Oh my, it looks like you live in Paradise!

DeleteThat would work for me. I live about a 20-30 minute drive away from the beaches of lake Erie. I rarely go but I really should start getting there
ReplyDeleteYou should try to get there...I'm sure it'd be a relaxing time!!
DeleteHello, Anni
ReplyDeleteYour beach photos are beautiful, it is nice to live just a drive away from the water. Take care, enjoy your day!
It's one of the best things we did in our life; moving near a beach with salty air, warm temps, and scenes like this every day of the week.
DeleteBeautiful beach photos, Anni!
ReplyDeleteI long for the sun and the beach ... but for now I still have to wait for a bit of sun rays! Such a pity!
Wish for it, and it will come!
DeleteBeautiful photos! My favorite place on earth is Nantucket. How I wish that I could live there but I can't afford it! LOL
ReplyDeleteI understand that abiut cost of living in some areas!
DeleteYou know I can relate and totally agree!
ReplyDeleteIt's the bestest way to live. So beautiful!
DeleteI am not a beachy girl at all, but I understand its allure for those who are. I have a lakehouse, and I enjoy going there and being near the water and its wildlife. I like long, slow boat rides and the cool breezes off the water.
ReplyDeleteIt's a dream come true for me

Boband I disagree on many things, but we both share your love of all things beach... and if we were realy rich would live right on a beach... next best is driving distance.. the beach has a calmness we can't find in other places. although a good walk in the woods is calming also
ReplyDeleteThe woods are peaceful too.
DeleteI may not always leave a comment, but I enjoy your adventures. Wish I was as smart as you and make changes to my blog. I did not even set the one I have up. You are a very smart and talented lady.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could help you. But blogger won't allow different isp #s to log in someone else's blog. I tried helping another & it won't work.
DeleteYou make me miss the soothing peace and tranquility a day at the beach can do for our souls. Nothing quite like it, So glad you got to refresh and thanks for taking us with you.
ReplyDeleteNothing like it indeed.

Mountains? Snow in them that hills. I vowed to not go back in winter! 😊
DeleteTotally agree, Anni. Being by the water is extremely calming... brings life into perspective. I've never lived 'on' the beach as such, but not far from it in Oahu and within a short drive growing up in New Orleans. We had the Mississippi River, Lake Ponchartrain, and the Gulf.
ReplyDeleteI could live on Oahu (cost of living tho...ugh!)
DeleteAhhhh yes indeed. The soul needs calm and the sea will do that.
ReplyDeleteWe used to live just a mile from the ocean. Loved the ever changing moods but hated the drizzle and fog. Great for photos at times but hard to drive in and it always did a number on my hair..can you say scraggly? We're 2 hour drive from the ocean now and I haven't been for a year! Darn Covid
sue
Wow...back then, you could walk to the beach!
DeleteI never live ON the beach, but a 5 to 10 minute walk away from it ~ I know how you feel!
ReplyDeleteIt's special!
DeleteYES! There is 'something' about the beach that soothes the soul. Been a beach girl all of my life and miss it terribly.
ReplyDeleteSoothes the soul...yes!
DeleteI can see that being near the water would be very calming.
ReplyDeleteThat it is!
DeleteBeautiful photos and sounds like you are living in the perfect spot for you. The peace and calm you feel at the ocean is how I feel in the woods! :)
ReplyDeleteThe woods can be good too.
DeleteYes, the beach is always calming. Thanks for sharing it with us!
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming with me!
DeleteI wear shoes. 😊
ReplyDeletePurdy purdy!! :) ~Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you wound up in a place you love. We were lucky that way too. 🙂
ReplyDeleteLovely shots, of the beach, the sunset is so beautiful. It's only half an hours drive to the beach from where I live,.. guess we both have the best of both worlds.
