I didn't even have the computer on over the weekend!! I used my cellphone for a bit in the morning on Saturday and Sunday. It really kinda felt good not allowing technology to dictate my life for a couple days. And, I doubt I will even use the phone to visit other bloggers...I just needed a break for a day or two.
WRITTEN ON MONDAY...scheduled for Tuesday
I only have a few more saved in my folder on the computer. I've been working on a Throwback Thursday post that is taking my allotted time on the computer per day [so I don't sit too long at one time at doing nothing]. I did go back to the park yesterday to check if I could spot the newly born fawns...I did see them! The photos I took are still on the camera. I'll get them uploaded in a few days, depending on Blogger and if it cooperates with me doing my own html coding for images. In the meantime, I've been working on my pansy afghan a little at a time, slowly unpacking my witch collection and cleaning them up to decorate come October 1st, etc. etc. We started a new jigsaw puzzle of only 550 pieces from the movie Madagascar [cuteness], and I will bake a pie and make BBQ'd ribs for our Labor Day meal. I'm staying home and indoors during the last holiday of the summer...beaches will be too crowded for me. So without any more said, here are a few sketches today...

My favorite breed of cattle, the Brahma[n] Bull

A Texas Longhorn
I did those two above long ago, and tho they've been in my sketch portfolio, I DO KNOW they're out of proportion...I still kept them.

An unfinished horse
...and last one for the day:
An Impala
...by the way, the old wives' tale about the cicada predicting rain was/is true. It rained here, and we are to have a cold front move in by the end of the week. I'm ready for this temperature drop.
These are just lovely, and so realistic. I knew right away that this is a Brahman bull. They don't look out of proportion to ME. This puzzle is a lot smaller then you usually do!
ReplyDeleteYes, the # is low for us...they get completed all too quickly.
DeleteYour sketches are always wonderful. I don't know if I could limit myself to just one hour a day of internet time. Even if I'm not on my computer I'll sit on the couch with either my phone or my tablet. I'm hopeless.
ReplyDeleteIt isn't easy. But, I feel better.
DeleteYour drawings are right on target to me... excellent pencil representations.
ReplyDeleteI love visiting here Anni, you always have great things to see and learn about.
I do hope it cools down for you.
It is getting close to the season of the witch... YES!!!
Have a great day 🍁☕🍂🎃👻🌙
Thanks Jan. This is our time of year! Bring on the witches.
DeleteHello Anni,
ReplyDeleteLove the sketches. Taking a break from the computer and TV is a good thing. Take care, enjoy your day!
Thanks Eileen! Yes, it's a good thing once you realize that the computer [and blogging sometimes] dictates how you live thru the day.
DeleteYour sketches are so gorgeous, you are very talented!
ReplyDeleteThanks Martha.
DeleteI love your sketches. I have always wished I could draw or paint, but unfortunately God did not put me in line for either of those talents! I, too, have found myseld spending much too much time on the computer, so I am trying to get up and move around more, and not sit so much. If the weather would cooperate, that would really help!
ReplyDeleteYes, after my heart attack I woke up to the fact I sit too much. It opened my eyes.
DeleteI'm glad to hear you are getting a cool down. I could never live with the heat and humidity you suffer through during the summer. And I love your sketches, you are so talented. :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope the cold front gets here as predicted
DeleteREALLY neat Brahma Bull sketch! Since we don't have a smart phone I will get along with the computer, scheduling early am and late afternoon to be turned on! Not a problem here. Lots of time for other activities.
ReplyDeleteyes...staying away from the computer is a wise choice imo.
DeleteWhen that cold front gets to your house please send it across the gulf they're saying it's not going to come here woohoo. My favorite breed of cows is the longhorn and it looks fine to me as they always do with your gift for sketching. KB in Colorado said they were supposed to wake up to 15 inches of snow today and 25° that must be the cold front is going to drop down to you
ReplyDeleteYa, my sister told me Denver (front range) has a winter storm coming. That's why we left Colorado! Snow? In September? uh,uh.
DeleteI love seeing your sketches. They are always so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Molly (and mom)
DeleteLove your sketches especially the Brahman. I love their exotic look and once knew a bull as a friend.
ReplyDeleteAdmire your getting away from the computer, wish I could. They say sitting is the new cigarettes for your health.
Ohhhh, to have a good friend on the hoof. Neat.
DeleteYes, the rain & cold are moving-in here too... and I'm glad. Well, maybe not about the rain but I know the land can use it. But definitely happy about the cooler temps. Love your sketches, Anni!! ~Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteCooler temps...YES, yes...YES!
DeleteAbsolutely love your sketches...I sure wish I had your talent.
ReplyDeleteAs for my last blog post...I sure hope this is the end of the invasive Box Elder Beetle season. I just hate them getting in our house. they give me the creeps. At least they don't sting or bite.
Cockroaches EWwww...don't like those critters either.
Sometimes a time out from FB and Blogger and the computer is just what the Doctor ordered.
Sue
thanks...
Deleteyes, bugs, period. yuk
Absolutely awesome sketches! It's been raining here every day for an hour or so. But my cicada's did not sing. I havent heard them since maybe june or july.
ReplyDeleteI read...when they sing it's 6 weeks for rain. so, July (mid July) it'd be 6 weeks?
DeleteI always enjoy your sketches! They are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteIt's suddenly gotten cooler here - only made it to 62 today. I'm not ready for that!
62 sounds heavenly to me after 100+° all summer. but, for you that means winter's snow/ice/cold is just around the corner.
DeleteWow! Your sketches are great. The cold front just came in here. I'm smiling about that.
ReplyDeletecold front...sounds good.
DeleteYour sketches are so very good. Wow!!
ReplyDeleteWe do jigsaw puzzles as soon as the first snow falls and have one being worked on all winter.
We do it in the summer months 'cause it's an inferno. winters are mild here.
DeleteExcellent sketches! I love that you do that. I used to do a lot of drawings as a kid and young adult, but when I got married and started having babies I kind of ran out of energy and time for drawing. I keep saying I will try again some day. I also loved to draw animals and people. (portraits). Thank you for sharing your talents with us. Those were excellent! We do need to spend more time doing special hobbies or crafts or just relaxing with people and nature, rather than being on the computer so much. I think I am due for such a break too. Thank you for the idea.
ReplyDeletewe all need to take a break from social media. Or anything that becomes routine.
DeleteI'm back to respond to your comment about the miracle baby. Our Heather and her hubby have been trying to get pregnant for over 3 years. They were going to a fertility Dr and nothing was happening. With covid they couldn't go in so they put a hold on treatment - and got pregnant! So that's why we say this one is a miracle baby!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that wonderful!?!! so blessed is your family.
DeleteSuch great sketches. i find that a day away from the computer, like I had today, is quite refreshing.
ReplyDeletethat, it is! I agree.
DeleteBrahma calves are pretty cute
ReplyDelete...all babies are cute!
DeleteYour sketches are so good! Sometimes I get caught up in doing things and forget all about my phone...much to our kids' chagrin.
ReplyDelete...for some, a cellphone is like an extension to their hand!
DeleteI love coming here and finding sketches. They are wonderful.
