Tropical Storm update: We here in Corpus Christi received only winds and rain. Along the coast quite a bit of flooding and dune erosion. The "eye" of the storm came on land near Port O'Connor, Texas [about 100 miles north, northeast of us]. There will be flooding advisories out for two days. Sunday, I drove out to the Gulf and witnessed some rough surf. Took pictures and will show them later this week. Now, on with the show. This found below was pre-scheduled in case of power outages during the storm threat...

Glad you made it through the storm.
ReplyDeleteThese hibiscus are so pretty. Even the leaves are pretty on this one. Too bad you can't find another one
I'll keep looking for more!
DeleteBeautiful hibiscus! They have such lovely blooms! They just aren't cold hardy enough here and I don't like to have to cover stuff when a frost is coming, so I probably wouldn't be a good hibiscus owner. So glad that storm did not cause you any damage. Praying for those to the north of you. We certainly have had some winds from it over here on our side of the gulf. But we are also getting a little tiny bit of cooler weather today and tomorrow, so we will enjoy it!! Have a blessed and beautiful day.
ReplyDeleteMy SIL had hibiscus in Colorado...they died off in winter but came back come Spring.
DeleteI am glad the "eye" missed you.
ReplyDeleteThst hibiscus is a beautiful shade of red. I hope you eventually find another one or two or however many you want.
It would be great to find another and have TWO. lol
DeleteI have never seen one like this, how gorgeous! I was so happy to get your hawk I.D.! I know you are right, because Cooper's Hawks are smaller, and this one was rather small. The breast of the two hawks looks the same. Yes, a blue moon this month! Thanks so much for your lovely comment! I'm so glad the storm did not cause you any problems! I always think of you when one comes close by there.
ReplyDelete...another way to differentiate the two hawks is the tail. Copper's tail is longer than the red shouldered. Oh and, cooper's has a "flatter" head while red shouldered is more rounded.
DeleteThis variegated Leaf hibiscus is my favorite of all hibiscus and it comes in pink and red and we had two pink and two red and they were huge like one was almost 20 feet tall because we didn't cut them back but now they're all dead and the only one we have is a red one like this that hangs over the fence from our neighbor's yard. We don't know what happened to him we think it was the drought. These photos are gorgeous
ReplyDeletePink?!! I love pink.
DeleteThis hibiscus is the reddest red I have ever seen! I do love red! Glad to hear that the storm hit further up the coast and you had no issues!
ReplyDeleteYes, a very rich red!
DeleteSo glad you didn't have anything major from the storm in your area. That hibiscus is one of the prettiest I've ever seen, love it!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorites!
DeleteYou are a lady of many talents and interests.
