Once again I drove to Calallen, Texas. I only saw one doe at the park as it crossed the park road in front of me before I got to the parking lot. In fact, I didn't see much wildlife at all on this particular morning. Doves and grackles and mockingbirds, yes...those are a given in Texas it seems. But, I concentrated on other parts of the park's scenery including the sunrise of course. So here are some photos of the morning walk. Look closely, in the 2nd image in series below [the pond] you may notice a bird on the tree remnant in the water...its silhouette...[a green heron].
The park itself is a large plot of land with many diverse landscapes. Hilly in sections, flat at other areas. Grassy in some areas, yet heavily wooded in more. A river runs through it, two ponds, two observation decks, a park road, trails, and more. After my walk around the road, giving me 6000 steps, I got back in the car and left. It was too early for Hobby Lobby in the small town to be opened, so I took a right hand turn for a leisurely drive up toward Orange Grove, Texas and stopped at Wright's Pond where I got out and spotted Wood Storks and Anhingas on the deadwood. It's a private pond on Wright's Ranch, but I pulled off onto the shoulder of the highway and snapped a few photos of the birds, then returned to Calallen and shopped at Hobby Lobby before heading home.

I am waiting until I absolutely have to for the new blogger format. Undoubtedly it will be horribly confusing to me. I like how the pink sky is reflected in the water. And the sun twinkling thru the trees and making long shadows.
ReplyDeleteThe pinks, I liked it too.
DeleteBeautiful
ReplyDelete:-)
DeleteI really can't see the heron ... that's on my glasses! Haha ..
ReplyDeleteVery nice sun up photos! You can see that autumn is coming, the sun is no longer so high in the sky!
The new interface for Blogger is really sucks! I don't like and I don't understand Google at all! Why did they make something complicated out of an easy thing ?!
Have a great week, Anni!
easy to complicated...indeed. Frustrating.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeletePretty sunrise and reflections. I found the heron silhouette. I have gone back and forth from the new blogger to the legacy blogger. Neither one is perfect but I prefer the old blogger. Take care, enjoy your day! Have a great new week!
The old interface wasn't broken...didn't need any changes. lol
DeleteIt looks like a beautiful day and a beautiful park.
ReplyDeleteI read your part about blogger and beyond HTML I didn't understand much. I'm not too bad with a computer but once you start getting into technical stuff, I'm lost.
It was nice up until about an hour after sunrise. Then, guess. Too hot & humid. Again. lol
DeleteI have adjusted pretty well to the new Blogger, still have to switch back once in awhile to fix something but it's usually just a glitchy thing on new Blogger. I love all your beautiful photos, looks like a beautiful peaceful morning. Have a great week! :)
ReplyDeleteso...how do you align & space images then (like newspaper columns?) in the new blogger.
DeleteI haven't tried to do anything like that, just keeping photos in the center and uploading them one at a time so the order doesn't get all mixed up.
DeleteI stared at the picture and think I saw the heron. It is a pain to have things we count on to change. I am back to the original blogger setup, mostly because of picture problems. I sure do enjoy going along with you on your walks! :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, it's aligning & sizing pictures that are not right. The auromatic coding just doesn't work the way I want it, until I have to go in...delete their codes & type my own. A big hassle.
DeleteAll of your photos and narrations have a theme of peacefulness. Nice. As for blogger, I only found a very little difference but just go with the flow. I'm satisfied to be able to share my photos and stories.
ReplyDeleteAs I've said before, I like doing things MY way & the new blogger doesn't have the choices of the old. I don't just post pictures ... I resize them, align them with text etc. So, now, I have to go back and re-code all things blogger with the new.
DeleteI so love your images today...specially the 9th...like the one with the Green Heron in it a lot, too...and the 6th is right up there at the top of appeal for me. Just something about it and the 9th that I absolutely love.
ReplyDeleteI love how the sunlight came thru the trees too.
DeleteI have often wondered how you get your photos in all the differnt spots like you do. now i know. i am hopeless the the HTML except to copy and past it. i do not like how the photos go in now, i did before. also in the past before they glomed it up, all photos that were portrait, on my blog and others, looked fantastic on my phone. now they do not. some of my favorite blogs uses portrait a lot and i have to view it on something other than phone of tablet or read itin feedly.
ReplyDeleteI know...I don't like it one bit, when it comes to automatic photo alignment.
DeleteYour pictures are beautiful always. The park sounds like a great place to walk with all the different areas in it.
ReplyDeleteJust want to say thanks for all the nice comments you leave on my blog!!
Thank YOU for taking time from your day to visit with me!
DeleteLove your wonderful spirit to rise with the sun and head out to be with nature and then share the moments with us in these gorgeous photos!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Anni 🌷
glad you could come with me!
DeleteThat's why I'm sticking with the Legacy Blogger as long as I can..Didn't like the new one and opted for the old one..we'll see how long that lasts..ugh,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of your early morning jaunt. My eyes usually don't open that early so I love seeing your take on the day.
Sue
...like my sister. she's doing good to wake up before 10 a.m. lol
DeleteI think I saw the Heron--almost sure and really loved that last one with the sun coming through the trees.
ReplyDeleteAs for New Blogger, tried it and didn't like it so I want back to Legacy. It wasn't broke, don't know why they changed it.
exactly. I figure it justifies their jobs & keeps a paycheck coming.
DeleteThat is a beautiful park. Your pictures look fantastic.
ReplyDeleteIt's one of my favorite areas to walk!
DeleteI can't imagine a more beautiful place to walk. Your photos are magnificent, as always! I walked this morning with an umbrella over my head, so I didn't see the Great Blue Heron, but heard its ancient squawks as it flew away from the pond.
ReplyDeleteAt least the GBH talked to you! Thanks Mary.
DeleteI'm sorry you're having trouble with Blogger. I use HTML with my self-hosted site and mostly WordPress has been OK. But the last update messed up my comments and restoring the previous version didn't get rid of all the problems, which I don't understand at all. Good luck! Love your pictures.
ReplyDeleteIt seems every time they "improve" things online, it's worse.
DeleteI agree on the new blogger. I don't know why they always feel they need to change things.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are gorgeous! I especially like the last one.
Thanks Mari
Deletevery beautiful landscapes....love the sun and ponds..
ReplyDeletethanks...glad you enjoyed it.
