Staying closer to home more these past few days, it entails getting out the cleaning equipment...and dusting! These are sitting atop the entertainment center by the front window. The glass, I admit, is very pretty during the late Spring and early Summer when the sun is farthest north; coming through the window. But, when you sit on the couch, crocheting, you tend to notice more dust accumulation. So, eventually, out comes the windex and liquid gold. [the first single image with the sail boat is a 1950 glass that has been my 'milk glass' for decades.] The last time my sister was here, she saw it and said "I see you still have your milk glass". Bud was tongue tied, he thought I was just babbling on to hear myself talk all this time....

My one and only blue carnival glass bowl. They are collector's items for many! I have a few pink carnival glass, and several white, but only one blue. It's a treasure to me.

More humor?

1] I don't know about you, but I have noticed that a lot of the masks are making a fashion statement. In our city, men and women alike are donning matching colored masks to their outfits! But this one I saw online, is really making a statement of another kind!
2] A patron waiting patiently for the curbside delivery...just how long has the wait been, y'wonder?
3] Taking the virus to a whole new level? I ask "What kinda virus protection is this?"
these humor images are not mine, I claim no ownership
Blue being my favorite color, I love your glass collection.
ReplyDeleteLove the humor. I wonder how well that AntiVirus mask works for her. Around here I have seen some of the most pitiful looking masks ever. One guy has a piece of an old white tshirt attached to rubber bands.
I don't like the gaiter scarves (masks) I see...they look sinister & makes me think of robbers/crooks/ax murderers.
DeleteLove your cobalt blue glass and your humor! Happy Friday☺
ReplyDeleteThanks Molly & mom.
DeleteHello, I love all the blue glass and the blue carnival glass bowl. I see lots of cute mask for sale on facebook..I bought a pack of regular mask at the local food store. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe 'regular' masks are the most comfortable in my opinion.
DeleteSuch a lovely blue color! And it seems that masks have become the latest fashion statement. I laughed at the "antivirus mask." :-)
ReplyDeleteIt really has become en vogue for matching masks.
DeleteOur "middle" daughter has a large nice colbalt glass collection. Yours is beautiful! I once had a huge collection of Carnival glass, some valuable pieces but sold it when experiencing needy times. I still have one bowl. I went to doctor visit and was given paper mask and when checking in the elastic broke and it snapped off. There sure was a scramble to get another! The plain ones are easy and comfortable to wear.To heck with style! I like your humor... images.
ReplyDeleteYes, carnival glass can be quite costly! I'd really like to have a black piece, but have been told they're rare...so, know I won't have one. Not in this life-time. Funny about the mask elastic.
DeleteI had a black piece too, but when you held a light bulb turned on inside of it, it was really very very dark purple.
DeleteYa, I know!
DeleteOh my Anni you can be blue all day long...what gorgeous blue glassware. I especially like the vase with the star like design. Back when I was a child my Annie Ma (maternal grandmother) had a magic potion that she used for an assortment of things from skinned knees to oral medication. It was called ST-37. It came in the most beautiful blue (same shade as your glassware) bottle.
ReplyDeleteHugs cecilia
The one you like best is cut crystal. I like it too. Obviously.
DeleteI just read your comment about ST-37...I hadn't thought of that in many, many years. My Mom had it too. It was the cure all for anything.
DeleteWow, that was digging way back in my memory vault.
Sue
For some reason, Anni, I thought "milk glass" was... well... the color of milk, white. I think my ignorance is showing! *lol* My favorite author, Gladys Taber, collected milk glass too from what I understand. Your collections are beautiful. Love, Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteMilk glass IS white. Just like milk. This is cobalt. And the bowl is blue carnival glass.
DeleteNOW I understand you dilemma. It is my MILK glass...mine alone. To drink milk.
DeleteGorgeous blue glass collection Anni!
ReplyDeleteChuckles, if one can, for the virus humor.
Please stay safe 🌷
We need to laugh all we can these days.
DeleteAmazing shades of blue. Just lovely. Keep the humor coming--we need to chuckle.
ReplyDeleteI keep looking for more hilarities!
DeleteI have seen many many different kinds of masks but none like these three and I do hope never to see the last one in person haha. Your blue glass is absolutely stunning I love all of it and I know it would be beautiful with sunlight coming through it
ReplyDeleteI know...me too, on the last 'bottom' mask.. I'm very curious where the elastic goes!
DeleteHaHa..the masks made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteYour glass collection is marvelous. I have several pieces of pink and gold carnival glass which I do love but I am having glass envy over that blue dish..oh my it s gorgeous.
My Mom was a huge collector of Milk Glass and I have kept a few of the pieces myself but I ended up selling most of it. No one even is interested in it now...too old fashion I guess.
Most of my treasures are still wrapped up in boxes since our move 13 years ago. I really don't have any place to show them and I'm too lazy to be constantly dusting.
Perhaps I'm in the advanced stage of laziness...is it fatal?
Sue
Lol...well, let's hope it isn't fatal.
DeleteI love that blue color. Have a small blue bottle collection myself.
ReplyDeleteAt a carnival when I was a kid I won a whole mess of the carnival glass by throwing nickels in them. Thought my mom would love it. She hated it and threw it all away!
Oh....how devastating for you!
DeleteThat's a real pretty blue glass collection and thank you for the chuckle.
ReplyDeleteGlad you stopped by Denise.
DeleteI too love that Cobalt blue and have a couple pieces of my own.
ReplyDeleteIt is true about the masks being fashion statements - lol. Who would have thought those masks could make you rich.
Most of the ones I've seen that match outfits are homemade. At least I think so.
DeleteI love that blue glass collection, beautiful! The antivirus mask is too funny!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was hilarious. Wish I would've thought of it.
DeleteMy favorite here is seeing your beautiful blue collection. And that Carnival Glass is AWESOME!! I don't know if I have ever seen any! Now I want to go to the giant antique place here and look for it. We have the biggest antique and used place on the east coast. It is so big that the aisles have street signs with street names.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll find some at an antique mall.
DeleteYou have some beautiful pieces...I could not pick a favorite! LOL at the masks!
ReplyDeleteHumor is good...yes?
Deleteawesome collections of glasses....
ReplyDeletethank you for humor memes...I am smiling for "anti virus" mask...hehehe...lol
# Have a wonderful weekend
Have a great weekend yourself!
DeleteI love that blue glass. The color is so vibrant. I have not been as active on my computer the last day or so and it may continue for a while. Making changes in my house to accommodate a washer /dryer on the main floor. Consequently everything is in a turmoil, including my mind.
ReplyDeleteChange can do that to us all. We have our washer/dryer in the garage & I don't like laundry day in the Summer months!
DeleteYes, you are definitely blue. Beautiful blue. And that David statue, oh my soooo blue ;)
ReplyDeleteLol...thanks Judie. Glad you came by for a visit!
