A Day Spent....

First off, I could get used to this scene on the freeway at "rush hour hour" just weeks ago with bumper to bumper traffic; sometimes at a standstill because of an accident ahead...but this weekend, whoa. Nice pace in the flow of the traffic when you're the only one on the road for miles and miles:

Yesterday, the sun was shining...the sky; cloudless! There was a brisk wind, cool, and just all out, a perfect day. Thing is, I stayed home-bound.  Did some yard work, mowed and edged the front yard and back yard, watered potted plants on the patio,  Worked on, and finished another jigsaw puzzle, and some crocheting.  I took the clippers and cut Bud's hair, shaved the 'new hair  growth'  on my shaggy looking neck since we can't go to get our hair cut, clipped Isaiah's talons toenails, watched a movie, and then, to get back out in the fresh air, I walked around the yard getting cellphone photos of the new Spring flowers to put on my blog. Here are some highlights of the day.  The following images are as follows:  Our red hibiscus tree, the buds of my amaryllis,  gardenia bush and purple bougainvillea,  Don Juan Climbing Rose and yellow ixora, a single blossom of the gardenia and a ceramic gnome, macro photo of duranta bush -they are very small purple blossoms [about the size of a dime] and a resin turtle amongst the vinca vine.

Then, indoors, the Texas Longhorn painting in front of the fireplace with antique cavalry saddle and Isaiah worn out from the toenail clipping!  And last, the latest jigsaw puzzle complete!

In a day or two, I'll tear this one down and we'll begin another puzzle.  This next one is 'holiday themed'....Halloween!  LOL

  3. Oh Anni.... I can't tell you how much contentment I myself felt, from hearing how your day went yesterday. I'm serious!! As I was reading about what you did, a "peace" came over me.... the peacefulness of time well spent. I loved everything about this post and about your day. Life hums on....! Love, Andrea xoxo

  4. Lots of energy spent in this post! Lovely flowers! Just beautiful!!!! We are not supposed to go anywhere unless it is to the doctor, grocery store. Your must not have that recommendation. No one here is supposed to just get in the car and take a "Sunday Drive."

    1. We are allowed to go walk in parks. But, I went to cemetery this Sunday 'cause all parks were closed. I think a lot of large cities have parks open for exercise (since gyms are closed & too close in working out there & you can distance yourself in parks & on trails)

    2. Ps...I will stay far from doctors & hospitals now, if God's willing. They are a petri-dish.

  5. Enjoyed your post Anni, great photos. Smiled at them all, beautiful flowers, smiled at Isaiah lounging, loved your artwork. I haven't been out on the freeway since all this happened. I wonder if it is as eerie looking as yours. Thank you for the peek into your productive day. Time to get off my laptop and follow suit ;)

  7. Hello, it is nice there is no traffic or back ups out there. I may have to cut hubby's hair soon, first time too. It should be interesting. Your flowers are so pretty, love the photos. I hope you are having a good day!

    1. I know. Bud is more trusting than I would be with HIM & the clippers. I'll wait 'til this is over & get my hair cut then. Lol

  8. The Duranta and Ixora are me favorites because I love their color, and I have never seen or heard of them! I love the puzzle, especially the little fairy and her tree home. It looks like it was hard to make! Another blogger, Rose, told me how she does her puzzles. She does not put the border together first. She spreads it all out and has plenty of room to fill in the center that way. We tried it, and it worked. What an adorable picture of Isaiah!!!

    1. I like to do the borders 'cause the copyright is always a good place to start. And they are on a corner piece.

  10. That's quite a photo album! No use in even trying to choose a favorite! With fuel prices so low and traffic at somewhat of a standstill, wouldn't it be fun to just get out and drive? I could have guessed the picture in the puzzle might have feathers! :~)
