It's mixed stuff today...
My daughter Irene, if you follow me here you know, collects PIGS. She has hundreds. When she moved into her house, she had a friend add a built in lighted hutch with glass doors or maybe that was book shelves and the lighted hutch was already part of the decor [not sure]...this is where she keeps her little piggies. [Oh, and her favorite color is pink...go figure] Anyway, a while ago, she said that she would like to have a sketch of mine...of a: you guessed...a pig. I just drew her one and will ship it off as soon as I get a mailing tube for it. When I showed her the sketch for her approval, she texted back: "Awesome". I titled it "Gramma Piggy" For this is what Clint [my grandson with Down's] has called Peggy...his other grandma...ever since he could talk. She probably won't like that I drew her this way, but...too bad, so sad. lol [jk] So, guess she's pleased. I'll be more pleased to get it sent...Isaiah has a fascination with this for some reason.

Speaking of Isaiah...here are some shots of him out in the garage. Another fixation is laying on the car putting paw prints all over the windshield and roof and trunk!! I was taking a bit of trash out into the trash bin while Bud was doing the dishes, and had my cell phone in my pocket. I snapped a few:

I had an early morning appointment at Calallen, Texas [car dealership] and when I was done there, I drove to the local park to see what kinda activities were taking place on the grounds. The Country Club Golf Course was very busy...they musta had a tournament or something going on. All women. Probably college age, so perhaps it was Texas A&M.
I then walked a while on the boardwalk among the trees and along the river, it was a misty, chilly morning so I didn't plan on staying long even if those young gals on the course were in shorts, I had sweats on and a sweat shirt. The one I got a photo of, you can see she is wearing a jacket too - but shorts in below 50 degree weather?
After walking around the two lakes, I climbed the hawkwatch platform. At the drip system, I saw white tipped doves, inca doves, green jays, cardinals, golden fronted woodpeckers, grackles, lincoln sparrows, crested titmouses; at the lakes egrets, stilts, ducks, and herons. A lone vulture was silently soaring above me.
Before getting back in the car to drive home, I pulled out my lensball and photographed a solitary tree beside the parking space, and then called it a day. Already it seemed like a long morning with yet a 30 minute drive home:

DeleteI am happy I did not get called grandma piggy, one of the most hurtful things in my past life, were two men at the gas station, that oinked at me while I pumped gas.. words are certainly more hurtful than sticks and bones and stay for ever. glad you like my new profile pic. I wanted to change it and could not remember how. Ginny lost her picture and asked for help. I researched how and helped her change hers and decide now was the time to do mine while I remembered.. that reflection shot of Isaiah is priceless and so is that pawsome paw pic..

DeletePigs is funny, while my mother collected elephants, everyone was always picking another to giver her and the collection was extensive too. Great photos, enjoy your week ahead!

DeleteOnce you say you are collecting something you can be sure a version of that is all you will receive ever again. Makes it easy for the giver but can become a burden. I did that with foxes and still get them today.
