Down by the Sea...

Yesterday morning after another rainstorm went over, I headed to Mustang Island to walk. This is some of what I saw. First...

...the oddities

Metal Yard Art and the Odd Couple
the "odd couple" - cormorant and pelican

....then, my imagination ran amok!

On the beach...an old felt hat? And a bird perched on a pole?
Neither!!! A brown leaf and a broken branch.

.....by the time I reached Port Aransas, it was raining there!. But, I braved the elements and walked some, not getting too soaked. Dark, heavy, clouds finally broke about a couple hours later.

And the day warmed up nicely!

This past week, I experimented with my lensball photography. All near the Gulf of Mexico...

I loved the hat shape leaf...it's even the color of felt hats. Lol

  2. What fun! I sure thought that was a bird sitting there, not a broken branch. And I love your balls, Anni, in more ways than one! :-)

  5. That lens ball is really cool. It’s been on my wish list since I saw it on another blog a while ago. The rain is about over on this part of the Gulf Coast I think (hope)...boy it really came down for a few days. Love your birds of course and smiled at your imagination with the broken tree...I often spot birds that really are something else!

  6. Your lensball photos are wonderful! You are truly a natural with it. I love the metal yard art. I would buy it if I saw it here. The pose of the cormorant and pelican...it looks like a baby cormorant is begging for food from a pelican! I really DID think that was an old brown hat and a bird perched on a branch!!

    1. I'd buy it if they were in natural colors. But this bright florescent paint is too much.

  8. Fun photos. Whenever it warms up around here,I plan to experiment with my lens ball as well, now that you gave me the idea of using any clear glass goblet or such as a stand.Thanks.

  9. I love #11 with the blue sky in the ball and very little of the stand showing. The skies and the palm tree photo really grabbed my attention. Neat presentation today! Saving up ideas from what you do for whenever I can get out again.

  10. We must have an imagination that is very similar...I am not joking when I say if I had not read your comment and went away without clicking on the photos, I would have thought that was a hat! I could easily see that it wasn't when I clicked the photo...I didn't really think the other was a bird, but I saw it before I even read your words....
