Friday, I had another trip by ambulance to the ER. My heart rate was 188 bpm at home, and I had to go to have an injection to slow it down! Of course, after everything was 'back to normal', you have to be observed for hours afterward! That is the part that just wears me down. And it takes a couple of days for me to recoup at home. Naturally, it was AFTER 5 pm on Friday, so I have to wait for the Cardiologist office to open at 8 am to get in to see him.
It was a sunny weekend, I and Bud took a short walk along the jetty on Mustang Island, but have spent most of our time napping and watching football.
Last week tho, before the clouds finally broke and moved out it was.....
Another dismal day, dark and dreary,
as I ponder weak and weary....
I decided to take out my sketch pad
... draw something spooky and sinister
for my favorite day of the year I've ever had:
HALLOWEEN!

I thought and thought about it...
What could I sketch; make the hours go by?
I love all things Halloween,
I just can't explain; don't know why!
Maybe it's the colors, black, orange, purple and green.
As visions of what to do, I thought some more...
Finally, a light bulb went on in my head!
As all other visions and thoughts I shed...
Out with the pencils I brought.
So, at my desk I happily sit!
Drawing...
Something eerie, something with gore...

Quoth the Raven
NOTHING MORE.
Hello, Anni
ReplyDeleteI hope you are well now, that was a scary episode with your heart rate and the trip to the ER. Happy Halloween, enjoy your new week!
Sorry to hear you had to go to the ER, hope you're feeling better now. I imagine that was quite a scare.
ReplyDeleteLove your Halloween sketch.
Sorry to hear of your scare... Halloween is an interesting time, especially for kids. Our community did it last night...which makes a lot more sense then during school week, but knowing the history of it...I guess we should ask the pope!
ReplyDeleteWell, that was a surprise! I thought that the heart issues were far behind you. But such good news that you are now all right. Halloween is, of course, YOUR holiday and I always look forward to what you do with it. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat was a real scary time! I'm so glad you are now doing better. The sketch is WONDERFUL! Perhaps the mixing of the primary colors to become the Halloween colors is the key to Halloween art and decor. Enjoy the day!
ReplyDeleteWow, Annie! That is an amazingly good drawing! I wish I could see again. By this I mean, that after my head injury years ago, I sort of lost the ability to draw what I see. Before that I drew beautiful pictures of people. Maybe I should just sit down and start doing it. You have inspired me!
ReplyDeleteonce again I say it. YOU ARE SOOOOO talented. I wish I could sit and have things like this come in my head and onto the paper... wow.... sorry about the trip to ER and glad you are home and ok. ER drives me nuts with the WAITING...
ReplyDeleteI know Mr. Poe would love this!!! You are so talented!! Now, WHY did your heart do this? Please keep me posted about what the cardiologist says. Yes, whenever I need to go to the E.R., it is ALWAYS Friday!! Big crowds of people, gang shootings, and patients on cots in the hallway.
ReplyDeleteyou are so talent...beautiful drawing.
ReplyDeletehappy hallooween
Wow - you are so talented!
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better. My dad has a lot of heart issues, so I know it is very taxing physically and mentally. Do take care.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the time in the hospital! Glad you're home and praying that you stay healthy now. I like your poem!
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better and that your heart rate will stay normal/ I love your take on The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe! He is one of my favorite poets/ authors. Your drawing is perfect for Halloween!
ReplyDeleteYes, hope you are feeling better and normal again. Happy Halloween.
ReplyDeleteWorth a Thousand Words
Wow Anni, you really are talented. I love the drawing and I hope you have a Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteYour drawing is just right for Halloween!
ReplyDeleteA rapid heartbeat is a scary thing. I have had a few episodes myself. Last time it happened the ER doctor gave me a shot of Adenosine that returned my heart to normal beats, but the drug's side effect felt like being hit by a truck! Not that I have ever been hit by a truck, but you can imagine what I mean. The 'hit by a truck' feeling passed quickly, but the exhaustion lasted for days.
Glad you are OK now
