Got a good reason For taking the easy way out

Alligator or Dinosaur? - - -

I took off early one morning taking my art connection [2] with me to stash somewhere in the park. I chose a close-by refuge along the bay to 'hide' them in plain sight. The first one is near the entrance to the refuge, the 2nd one I walked the trail and veered off the trail where I knew there was a bench with the overview of the water, hidden in the tree-line that drapes the trail in shade during the summer...

After I finished walking the trail and turned around to go back to the observation platform, I then got back in the car and drove to the other side of the bay where the NAS [naval air station] and the Oso Bay Texas A/M campus is to check out the waterfowl in that vicinity. By the time I arrived, the wind had kicked up and as I walked the shoreline of the bay side, I had to fight for balance. It was warm, but the high velocity of the wind kept my walk short. I did see a lot of birds hunkering down on the leeward...gulls, terns, willets, skimmers, pelicans, sandpipers, gulls, herons and more....

As I mentioned in previous posts, I had picked up three rocks to paint for this kindness project. The third one I finished and will take out to hide some other time.  All three rocks, I coated them with a clear varnish that has glitter added...they will sparkle in the sunlight [that is, IF the sun decides to shine!]

It's supposed to be a Texas Alligator, but both Bud and I think it turned out to look more like a dinosaur! lol
I painted the wording on the backside...

  1. It does look more like a dinosaur. But it is so cool! Plus, alligators are the last living dinosaurs, or so I have been told. Your rocks are such tiny treasures, painted by a real artist.

  4. I think it looks like an alligator! This phenomenon is kind've like geo-cashing without the long difficult hikes and also because you don't take something-leave something. It can be enjoyed by older people and people with disabilities. And I suppose if you found a rock somewhere, you could always leave your own in its place. But, I love that you chose an easy trail to do your hiding! What fun! And yes, I do hope you get some sun soon!

  8. I love the photos of the birds and flowers. How I would love to explore your area. So pretty,

We had a cold and snowy winter. Lots of ice and then a huge melt, which caused flooding. If you have time, drop over to the Writing Nook and see the photos.

Wishing you and Bud a great weekend.

I've sent you an email using the email address from years ago..if I get a reply than I would like to talk to you about what is going on with my health. I've read your account of your heart attack. The Doctor mentioned my problem with shortness of breath might be a heart problem and not a lung problem. Now I'm concerned as I've had pain on my left chest side for a week. To me it is more like muscle soreness but is more painful when I cough or pick something up with my left hand. Anyway, more later.

    1. With so many ways of suffering with heart disease/problems...it's best you rely on a physician or specialist instead of me...I'm not a good source 'cause I'm not educated in the field.
