...You Are HERE [x]

Yesterday, the first day we had some sunshine, and I was elated. I couldn't wait to get outdoors and walking. I drove to Calallen Texas [a suburb of Corpus] to walk around the park and river.

I knew I had come to the right spot since 'they' say "X MARKS THE SPOT"!!!

Walking along the golf course boundary I spotted two white tailed deer watching the golfers...

...finally spotting me with my camera, they fled the scene...

...from the hawk watch platform, the view of the valley and ponds.
...a forest of Spanish Moss covered trees
...a fence post along the field...

  4. That is a nice series of fleeing deer. I must say that the doe in my area don't have such an elongated head in profile. I really like the last picture of the fencepost best and so glad you are out and about again!

  5. The deer look quite different than our PA deer..... either way, I have no fondness after having two run into my car!! Bambi is not quite what comes to my mind.

  6. Beautiful, warming photos. When it is cold up here, I miss south Texas. My brother moved from Corpus to Memphis, TN late last year and he is missing Texas also.

  12. What a great walk! We were having winter blues here too (though kind of ashamed of that compared to the rest of the country) ... but it's warming up again as well ... off for a walk soon!!
