More of Port Aransas...the Last of the Series

This will be the last of the Port Aransas Series of photos. Not many words are needed to be added...the debris, damage, speak volumes!!

Above, this pier used to have a housing unit at the end [seen HERE from a previous post]. It belongs to the Marine Science Institute of Texas. This area is where the ARK [injured animal recovery and rehabilitation] is located. The building, that was once there...no longer exists. I couldn't get that close, so I don't know if the building is in the channel water or was washed out completely.

Once a clean, pristine area between the jetty and Magee Beach Pier the beach was filled with debris and thousands of tiny micro species and broken shells. Of course what the sea gives, it also takes away.

  2. It is such a terrible thing. However, seeing it first hand is more tragic. So glad you were spared the worst.

  3. Awful, just awful. Your photos show only a part of the real thing - I don't know how you can stand seeing this devastation and IT is not finished wreaking havoc yet. Yes I mean the weather.

  6. How devastating! And I hate to think what happened to those poor animals in ARK. The bridge is broken totally in half.

  11. So very sad. Now my sights are on Florida, where my sister lives. It's all so scary, and with wildfires in our area, earthquakes in Mexico, and these hurricanes one right after the other, I want to get through this awful time to the other side. Thanks for the update, even though it makes me cry. :-(
