“A wise old owl lived in an oak;
The more he saw the less he spoke;
The less he spoke the more he heard...
Why can't we all be like that bird?”

...All This Time I Thought I Lived in a Republican State!

...at least I found a Texas STAR!!

DON'T FENCE ME IN...

...I'm sure I won't find an elephant in the pastures!!! Whether it's a red or blue state, I guess you could say, it's all a STATE of Mind!!

  1. I hope he can see through that! I guess it is to protect his face from flies. Pretty though!

    1. Yep, he saw me right away and walked up to me. Altho it stopped to scratch its hiney on the palm tree [as in the photo] before reaching for the 'greener' grass on the other side of the fence. lol

    1. I'd have one if we had land for it.

  4. there was a place nearby here that i'd pass and sometimes see 3 elephants in a specially designed holding pen - using telephone poles sunk as fence posts. the guy used them as a traveling circus thing. he eventually caved to pressure and donated them to the dallas zoo, i believe, so no more elephants in pastures here.

  6. I thought maybe it's a feed bag that got stuck somehow, but you say it's supposed to be like that? Poor little guy!

    1. I think it's to protect its eyes from flying insects.

  7. Well, it goes to show you, the grass isn't greener on the other side of the fence :) I love donkeys, not because of my political bent, but because they are just plain cute ... and with a plaid face mask ... adorable :) As for politics being a state of mind ... right now I think it is a state of anxiety. Have never, in all my years, lived through (hopefully) such a mess.

  17. I wonder if this is some kind of statement about political blindness :) Love that great big barn star or in this case it's a fence star
