Early in the morning, walking along the path of Indian Point Park in Portland, Texas [on the bay between Corpus Christi and Portland], the colors are beginning to pop out from the dreary wintry blanket of brown and dullness...the juniper bushes are getting new growth, and below their protective covering, the Spring Flowers are coming into bloom.
The bright low sun surfacing on the horizon, the water current creating a tiara of diamonds, the birds singing in the whispers of the morning air...the blues, the lavenders, the oranges, the mellow yellows and the undying shades of green...all encased in the memories of a photo album.

The blanket flower is beautiful! Do you know what the bright blue ones are? They are a gorgeous color that is not common.
ReplyDeleteNo I don't....I think it's a 'weed'...wildflower.
DeleteI have some Easter lillies blooming...at least, that's what I THINK they are....lol It's too early!!! We needed some winter!
ReplyDelete...and some winter rains.
DeleteYour last paragraph is lovely, as are the pics. It's hard to believe the flowers are already starting to come in, but we see it here, too. Hopefully we'll get some more rain to help them along!
ReplyDeleteYa. How many times has it "threatened" to rain, but it all just moves northward toward Houston without giving us our fair share? Thing is, I feel it's due time we are hit with a tropical storm or worse this year...just hope we don't get THAT much rain and wind all at once.
DeleteWhat a beautiful carpet og flowers and colours!
ReplyDelete...glad you enjoyed this Janni
DeleteLove your words in this post with some delightful photos of Spring flowers!

ReplyDelete...kinda mean of me huh...when you're suffering extreme cold? Glad you enjoyed.
DeleteSuch pretty pictures ... and if you didn't share the pictures, your words would have created that image in my mind's eye.
ReplyDelete...awwww, that was nice of you to say Kathy.
DeleteThey are lovely Anni and so nice to see. We are going to get snow on Wednesday. Please keep the flowers coming.
ReplyDeleteMy favorites are the orange ones!
orange...your favorite...that speaks volumes of your warm glowing personality Jackie.
Deleteyes, Spring is coming....we saw a little Squirrel Hanky Panky on Saturday morning and the Wren is building a nest in the canopy over the little pond...I can just barely see some tiny buds on our Maple Tree...I'm ready for Winter to be over but not ready for Tornado season...
ReplyDeleteMama Bear
...the squirrels are getting active around here too. For me, it's the onset of Hurricane season after Spring I most dread.
DeleteSo pretty! And color is beginning to return to many places, it seems, harbingers of spring! We are seeing little shoots of green and crocuses must be ready to pop open soon! :-)
ReplyDelete...yep, that's a sure sign of Spring...crocuses.
DeleteFlowers already..you are so lucky!
ReplyDeletewell...'round here, except for about a month's time frame, there are some kind of flowers blooming. Especially wildflowers.

...glad you liked these Carol
DeleteWe missed that snow as it went to the west and up north. We need moisture so bad here but it seems to go around us.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your photos and I am hoping for spring soon also.
I am afraid that if we don't get some type of moisture our spring will not be to pretty.
...well you and me both, we need moisture so badly.
DeleteI am in central TX -- and we are still very much brown and browner. Looking forward to a surprise note of color soon! Thank you for the hope!! :)
ReplyDeleteSoon....I'm sure real soon.

DeleteHi Anni proof positive spring is just around a few hundred bends. LOL Maybe I better send you our coordinates so you can set it's GPS.

Using GPS would even get Spring lost. Trust me.
Deletewhat a difference to my white world. Beautiful flowers. :)
ReplyDeletehope it warmed you a bit.
DeleteI'm jealous. Nothing is popping around here but at least some of the snow is melting.
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question, yes I do feature fur baby blogs as well. I've done one already, Beaded tail.
I'll have to check out your Monday posts...I missed that one maybe?
DeleteGosh, Indian Blanket flowers already? Enjoy the early spring blooms! Thank you for bringing them here to brighten up this drab, dreary day. :)
ReplyDelete...I think I'd rather have your hummers instead of some wild flowers right 'bout now.
DeleteIt's amazing how things will bloom. I have nothing and even snow on some of my flower beds...The ones against the house is uncovered. Look like my daffodils and crocus are up.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on.
