“A wise old owl lived in an oak;
The more he saw the less he spoke;
The less he spoke the more he heard...
Why can't we all be like that bird?”

    1. I'm sure you're correct...the moss is a parasite, isn't it? Like mistletoe?

  6. Great photos of the Spanish moss. I wish it grew in the trees here, but I think we're too far north...we just get mistletoe growing in the trees, which I love, too.

    1. ...and we have very LITTLE mistletoe. I've seen a few outbursts of growth, but few and far between. But the moss along the river is abundant.

  7. Morning Anni
    I just love Spanish moss...
    Here is a funny story.
    Years and years ago I worked for an organization that sponsored a convention every year. Usually in very nice places but I did have to work some. One year it was held at Myrtle Beach, SC. My B had to be out of town the week I was supposed to be there. So the plan was for my daughter (she was about 12) and I to drive down and he would fly into MB. He was an audit and very detail oriented. He wrote out wonderful directions. My daughter was going to be my navigator. She was reading of the directions she said Daddy how will we know we are going the right way. He said if see Spanish Moss you are on the right road if not you'll see hills. We still laugh when we see moss.
