A holiday greeting to your house...from ours---

I'll be on a blogging hiatus. Will return in about a week's time. There will be all the dismantling of the holiday decorations and cleaning the house [we'll be getting our carpeting shampooed also while this is going on and moving furniture, etc.], then putting everything back to normal again for another year until next Thanksgiving rolls around. Hope your holiday season is filled with joy and happiness, love and laughter!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS !!

AFTER tomorrow, I will begin my 6th year of blogging in this venue. Hootin' Anni came into existence on Dec. 25, 2006.

I had to laugh reading what you will be doing next week! It sounds like our week (except the carpet shampoo! Hopeing to get undecorated and back to normal by next friday! Hubs n I are getting ready to head down south for the winter! We wish you n yours a Blessed Christmas filled with the same as your card!

I get tired just thinking about all the clean up and Dept. 56 village to pack away once again. I may keep that up a while as it isn't particularly Christmas as it is winter. Just putting off the inevitable.....ha! Still haven't put away the gifts but will do that today while the Hubs is out taking boxes to the dumpster.....recycle bin....I should say. I need some shampooing too, send you guy my way! ha! If I could have my wish I would do the whole weekend over again to relive the fun and joys of Christmas!

Hi Anni! Your new background is beautiful, first of all. I enjoyed catching up on all your posts on this page just now. I've been thinking about the State Farm phone number ... maybe they think we will just give up and look in the phone book for a local State Farm agent?

BLOGGER'S new Word Verification RANT

First off all, it's very time consuming when you tend to repay visits from those who leave comments on your blog!!! Secondly, it's very difficult to decipher...it's annoying...it's a pain in the butt! Literally. Think about it, for every blog that has this WORD VERIFICATION; taking two or more attempts to type in the correct combination - multiply that by some 30-40 blogs that you visit ---that takes up a lot of minutes/hours trying to be courteous and kind to those who leave you a comment and expect a visit from you in return, and you have that nasty word verification enabled!! If you don't get a lot of comments, and have word verification on your blog -- you have no one to blame but yourself.

HOW TO DISABLE
WORD VERIFICATION
IN BLOGGER
Open Dashboard
Click on Settings
Click on COMMENTS scroll down to:
Show word verification for comments?
Click "NO"

scroll down to:
SAVE SETTINGS!!!

PS: If you have the NEW Blogger INTERFACE, there is no option...you can fix that!!! GO TO THE OLD BLOGGER INTERFACE that you find on the newer version [a link] --then, follow the settings -comments- NO word verification -save. You can then have the option to return to the new interface or remain in the old style.

So many times, I've read comments posted by our own citizens under political articles about USA. And these citizens [the ones that vote for our leaders] keep referring to our country as being a Democracy!!!
Let me tell you......
THE UNITED STATES IS NOT a DEMOCRACY...it's a REPUBLIC! There is a difference. You recite, and/or read "...and to the Republic, for which it stands..."
In a Republic, the sovereignty or 'power' resides in the people of this country themselves, whether one or the majority of the populace. In a Republic, one may act on his own or through his representatives as he chooses to solve a problem; for instance elected politicians. Further, we, the people have no obligation to the government; instead, the government, being elected officials and paid salaries by the people, is obliged to its owner, us - the people.
So, when you go vote: remember, YOU ARE THE SOVEREIGNTY or power of the dominion - The United States of America, and YOU LIVE IN A REPUBLIC ---oust those who make you believe otherwise.
